Connect the USB cable from the Q88 MKII to the adapter, and then connect the adapter to your iOS device. Ensure your iOS device has sufficient power, as the Q88 MKII draws power from the USB connection.
4.3 Using Sustain and Expression Pedals
Connect a standard 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) sustain pedal to the Sustain input for piano-style sustain. Connect a standard 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) expression pedal to the Expression input for continuous control over parameters like volume or wah (requires software mapping).
5. Basic Operation
5.1 Octave and Transpose
Use the Octave -/+ buttons to shift the keyboard's pitch range up or down by octaves. The Q88 MKII also supports transposing by semitones using the Advanced button and specific keys (refer to the full PDF user guide for detailed mapping).
5.2 Pitch Bend and Modulation
The Pitch Bend wheel allows you to smoothly raise or lower the pitch of notes for expressive effects. The Modulation wheel can be assigned in your software to control various parameters, such as vibrato, tremolo, or filter sweeps, adding dynamic expression to your performance.
5.3 Volume Control
The dedicated Volume slider on the front panel controls the overall MIDI output volume. This slider can also be re-assigned to control other MIDI parameters within your DAW or virtual instrument.
5.4 Transport Controls
The Play, Stop, and Record buttons send standard MIDI Machine Control (MMC) messages. These can be used to control the transport functions of your DAW, allowing you to start, stop, and record directly from the Q88 MKII.
