4. Installation Instructions
These bell glides are designed for friction stem installation, where the stem locks into a socket located inside the furniture leg. This method allows for easy insertion and removal.
Tools Required:
- Drill
- Appropriate size drill bit (8mm or 5/16" for the socket hole)
- Hard mallet or small hammer
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Furniture Leg: If replacing existing casters, remove them. If installing on new furniture, identify the center point on the bottom of each furniture leg where the glide will be installed.
- Drill the Hole: Using a drill and an appropriate drill bit (approximately 8mm or 5/16" in diameter), drill a hole into the wooden furniture leg. Ensure the hole depth is sufficient to accommodate the 30mm length of the sleeve socket.
- Insert the Socket: Place a mounting stem sleeve socket into the drilled hole. Use a hard mallet or small hammer to gently tap the socket into place until it is flush with the furniture surface.
- Attach the Glide: Align the stem of the bell glide with the installed sleeve socket. Push the stem firmly into the socket until it locks securely in position.
- Repeat: Repeat these steps for all remaining furniture legs.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the uvce Bell Glides convert your furniture into a stationary unit. This provides stability and prevents unwanted movement. The glides are designed to allow for occasional repositioning by lifting and moving the furniture, rather than rolling it.
Important Note: The glide bells are made of a hard nylon material. While suitable for carpets and mats, the density of this material may cause damage to delicate wood flooring if dragged. Exercise caution when moving furniture equipped with these glides on wood surfaces.
6. Maintenance
These bell glides require minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the glides and their connection to the furniture legs to ensure they remain securely in place. Clean the glides with a damp cloth if dust or debris accumulates.
7. Troubleshooting
Problem: Glide does not fit into the existing hole.
- Solution: The stem diameter is 8mm (0.32"). Ensure your furniture's socket hole is compatible. If the existing hole is too large (e.g., 3/8"), these glides may not fit securely without an adapter (not included). If the hole is too small, it may need to be drilled to the correct size.
Problem: Glide feels loose after installation.
- Solution: Ensure the sleeve socket was fully inserted and flush with the furniture surface. The stem of the glide should be pushed firmly into the socket until it locks. If the hole is too wide for the socket, the connection may not be secure.
