5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Unit

The Denver DAB-30 can be powered by either the included AC adapter or AA batteries.

1. AC Power: Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN port on the rear of the radio, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet.
2. Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the rear of the radio (refer to Figure 4). Insert 4 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Antenna Adjustment

For optimal radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located on the rear of the unit. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.

5.3 Initial Scan (DAB)

Upon first power-on, the radio will typically perform an automatic scan for DAB stations. If not, or if you wish to rescan:

1. Ensure the radio is in DAB mode (press MODE if necessary).
2. Press the SCAN button. The radio will search for available DAB stations and store them.

6. Operation

6.1 DAB Radio Mode

1. Press the MODE button until "DAB" is displayed.
2. Use the PREV or NEXT buttons to cycle through available DAB stations.
3. Adjust volume using the VOLUME/SELECT knob.
4. Saving Presets:
   1. Tune to the desired station.
   2. Press and hold the PRESET button.
   3. Rotate the VOLUME/SELECT knob to choose a preset number (1-20).
