4. Setup

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your espresso machine:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all parts are present.
  2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct sunlight.
  3. Clean Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Wash it thoroughly with warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry.
  4. Fill Water Tank: Fill the water tank with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX line. Place it back securely on the machine.
  5. Initial Rinse (Priming):
    • Place a large container (at least 10 oz) under the coffee outlet.
    • Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet. The brew buttons will flash as the machine heats up (approx. 30 seconds).
    • Once the buttons stop flashing and remain solid, press either brew button to run a cycle of hot water through the machine without a capsule. This primes the pump and cleans the internal system.
    • Repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure the system is fully primed and clean.
  6. Your machine is now ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

  2. Insert a capsule and place a cup.
  3. Press and hold the desired brew button (Espresso or Lungo).

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the best taste and extends the life of your machine.

Daily Cleaning:

Descaling:

Descaling is crucial to remove mineral buildup and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 3-6 months.

  1. Empty the water tank and used capsule container.
  2. Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (follow descaler manufacturer's instructions) or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  3. Place a large container under the coffee outlet.
  4. Run several brewing cycles (without a capsule) until the water tank is empty.
  5. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill with fresh water.
  6. Run several cycles with fresh water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
