2. Setup Guide

2.1 Physical Connection

  1. Place the printer on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Connect the power cord to the printer and then to a power outlet.
  3. Connect the USB cable from the printer to your computer.
  4. Assemble the external label holder (if using external roll labels) and place it behind the printer.

2.2 Loading Labels

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on.
  2. Open the top cover of the printer.
  3. Insert the thermal labels into the rear feed slot, ensuring the print side faces upwards.
  4. Adjust the label guides to fit the width of your labels snugly, without being too tight.
  5. Close the top cover. The printer will automatically detect and calibrate the label size.

2.3 Driver Installation

The included U Disk contains the necessary drivers. If the U Disk is not accessible or drivers are outdated, please download the latest drivers from the official K COMER website.

  1. Insert the U Disk into your computer or download the appropriate driver from the links above.
  2. Run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. After installation, restart your computer if prompted.
  4. Go to your computer's printer settings to ensure the K COMER RX106F is recognized and set as the default printer if desired.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Printing a Test Label

After driver installation and label loading, perform a test print to verify functionality:

  1. Ensure the printer is connected and powered on.
  2. In your printer settings, locate the K COMER RX106F and select the option to print a test page.
  3. Observe the print quality and ensure the label feeds correctly.

3.2 Printing Shipping Labels

  1. Generate your shipping label from your preferred platform.
  2. When printing, select the K COMER RX106F as your printer.
  3. Ensure the page size in your print dialogue matches your label size (e.g., 4x6 inches).
  4. Confirm print settings and initiate printing.

K COMER provides exclusive label software and a PDF cutting tool to assist with label creation and optimization. This software supports Windows and iOS/Phone. It allows users to design custom labels and efficiently cut PDF labels to the correct size.

  • Download the software from the official K COMER website.
  • Follow the installation instructions provided with the software.
  • Utilize the software for custom label design or to prepare PDF labels for printing.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Print Head

Regular cleaning of the print head ensures optimal print quality and extends the life of your printer. It is recommended to clean the print head weekly or after every few rolls of labels.

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the top cover of the printer.
  3. Use an alcohol swab (70% isopropyl alcohol) or a specialized thermal printer cleaning pen to gently wipe the print head surface.
  4. Allow the print head to dry completely before closing the cover and powering on the printer.

4.2 General Care

  • Keep the printer in a clean, dust-free environment.
  • Avoid exposing the printer to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
  • Use only high-quality thermal labels to prevent damage to the print head.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the printer beyond routine maintenance.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Printer Not Responding:
    Ensure the power cord and USB cable are securely connected. Verify the printer is powered on. Check if the correct driver is installed and selected on your computer.
  • Poor Print Quality (Faint or Streaky Prints):
    Clean the print head as described in Section 4.1. Ensure you are using high-quality thermal labels. Adjust print density settings in your printer preferences.
  • Labels Not Feeding or Jamming:
    Ensure labels are loaded correctly and the label guides are adjusted to the label width. Check for any obstructions in the label path. Make sure labels are not curled or damaged.
  • Incorrect Label Size or Orientation:
    Verify that the label size setting in your print dialogue matches the physical labels. For some platforms, you may need to adjust scaling or use the K COMER PDF cutting tool to ensure correct output.
  • Driver Installation Issues:
    If the provided U Disk driver fails, download the latest version from the official K COMER website. Ensure your operating system is compatible. Temporarily disable antivirus software during installation if issues persist.
