Product Features
- Pocket-Sized Design: Compact and portable for easy storage and transport.
- Two-Stage Sharpening: Features coarse tungsten carbide for initial shaping and fine ceramic rods for a polished edge.
- Universal 22-Degree Angle: Sharpening slots are pre-set to a consistent 22-degree angle for optimal results.
- Pivoting X-Base: Folds out to provide enhanced stability and safety during sharpening. Constructed from Zytel (glass-nylon) with rubberized TPR finger grip.

Operating Instructions
The Edge-X sharpener features two stages: Coarse Carbide for dull blades and Fine Ceramic for honing and finishing.
Step 1: Coarse Sharpening (for dull or damaged blades)
- Hold the sharpener firmly with one hand, utilizing the rubberized finger grip.
- Insert the heel of the knife blade into the Coarse Carbide slot (labeled 'Coarse Carbide').
- With moderate downward pressure, pull the knife blade through the slot from heel to tip. Maintain a consistent, smooth motion.
- Repeat this action 3-5 times, or until a burr is felt along the edge of the blade.

Step 2: Fine Honing (for finishing and regular maintenance)
- After coarse sharpening, or for blades that only require light maintenance, insert the heel of the knife blade into the Fine Ceramic slot (labeled 'Fine Ceramic').
- Using light, consistent downward pressure, pull the knife blade through the slot from heel to tip.
- Repeat this action 5-10 times, or until the desired sharpness is achieved and the burr is removed.

Note: The coarse carbide stage removes more material and should be used sparingly, primarily for very dull or damaged edges. The fine ceramic stage is for refining the edge and regular touch-ups.
Maintenance
- After each use, wipe the sharpener clean with a damp cloth to remove any metal filings or debris.
- Ensure the sharpener is completely dry before storing.
- Store the sharpener with the X-base folded flat in a dry place to protect the sharpening elements.
Troubleshooting
Blade Not Sharpening Effectively
- Insufficient Pressure: Ensure you are applying moderate, consistent downward pressure when pulling the blade through the slots.
- Incorrect Technique: Always pull the blade from heel to tip. Do not push the blade into the sharpener.
- Skipping Coarse Stage: For very dull blades, the coarse carbide stage is essential to re-establish the edge before moving to the fine ceramic stage.
- Worn Sharpening Elements: Over time, the carbide and ceramic elements may wear down. While designed for durability, if sharpening performance significantly degrades, replacement may be necessary.
