A full charge allows for approximately 8 hours of continuous use.
- Probe Connection: Connect the oscilloscope probe line to the probe jack (1 in Figure 3.5) on the top of the device. Ensure a secure connection.
- Power On: Press and hold the power switch (2 in Figure 3.5) to turn on the device.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button to turn the device on or off.
- Navigation: Use the directional buttons (up, down, left, right) to navigate through menus and adjust parameters. The central button typically acts as an 'OK' or 'Enter' key.
- Menu Access: Press the 'MENU' button to access the main settings and functions.
5.2 Waveform Measurement
- AUTO Function: Press the 'AUTO' button for automatic waveform display and measurement. This function simplifies setup by automatically adjusting time base and vertical sensitivity.
- Trigger Modes: The device supports full trigger functions:
- Single: Captures a single waveform when the trigger condition is met.
- Normal: Captures waveforms only when the trigger condition is met.
- Automatic: Continuously captures waveforms, even without a trigger, making it suitable for stable signals.
- Waveform Storage: The FNIRSI-5012H has a built-in 64M storage space, capable of storing up to 2000 waveform pictures.
- To save the current waveform, press the 'SAVE' button. The process is quick and requires no complex prompts.
- To manage stored waveforms, access the waveform file manager through the menu. It supports thumbnail browsing, viewing details, page turning, and deletion.
- Time Base and Vertical Sensitivity: Use the appropriate buttons (e.g., 'MODE' or directional keys in specific modes) to manually adjust the time base (horizontal scale) and vertical sensitivity (voltage scale) as needed for detailed analysis.
- AC/DC Coupling: Use the 'AC/DC' button to switch between AC coupling (blocks DC component) and DC coupling (shows both AC and DC components) based on your measurement requirements.
- Probe Attenuation: Ensure the probe attenuation setting on the oscilloscope (e.g., '1X/10X' button) matches the physical probe's attenuation setting to ensure accurate readings.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the oscilloscope in a cool, dry place. Ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before long-term storage to prolong its lifespan.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the device when the battery level is low.
- Probe Care: Handle the oscilloscope probe carefully. Avoid bending or damaging the cable and connector.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | Battery is depleted. | Connect the device to a charger and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again. |
| No waveform displayed. | Probe not connected or faulty; incorrect trigger settings; signal too small or too large. | Ensure probe is securely connected. Press 'AUTO' button. Adjust vertical sensitivity (V/div) and time base (s/div). Check trigger level and mode. |
| Waveform is unstable or noisy. | Improper grounding; external interference; incorrect trigger settings. | Ensure proper grounding. Minimize external electromagnetic interference. Adjust trigger level and mode to stabilize the waveform. |
| Incorrect voltage readings. | Probe attenuation setting mismatch. | Verify that the probe attenuation setting on the oscilloscope (e.g., 1X or 10X) matches the physical probe's setting. |
