4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Choosing an Installation Location
Select a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within reach of power and video cables. For outdoor installations, ensure the mounting surface is sturdy and can support the camera's weight. The IP66 rating ensures protection against dust and strong water jets, making it suitable for exposed outdoor areas.
4.2 Mounting the Camera
- Prepare the Surface: Mark the drilling points on the wall or ceiling using the camera's base as a template.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points. Insert wall plugs if mounting on masonry or drywall.
- Secure the Base: Align the camera base with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided screws.
- Adjust Angle: Loosen the adjustment screws on the camera dome to set the desired viewing angle. Tighten the screws once the angle is set.

4.3 Wiring Connections
The camera features a 4-in-1 video output, supporting AHD, CVI, TVI, and CVBS formats. It typically has two connectors: a BNC connector for video output and a DC power jack.
- Video Connection: Connect the BNC cable from the camera to the video input port on your DVR/NVR.
- Power Connection: Connect the DC power adapter to the camera's power jack and then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
Note: Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the camera and DVR/NVR system.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Video Output Mode Switching
The DigiTech K05 camera supports four video output modes: AHD, CVI, TVI, and CVBS (Analog). The mode can typically be switched via a small joystick or button on the camera's cable, or through the OSD menu if accessible via a compatible DVR.
- AHD (Analog High Definition): High-resolution analog video.
- CVI (Composite Video Interface): High-resolution analog video.
- TVI (Transport Video Interface): High-resolution analog video.
- CVBS (Composite Video Broadcast Signal): Standard definition analog video, compatible with older systems.
Important: Ensure the camera's video output mode matches the input mode of your DVR/NVR for proper display and recording.
5.2 Night Vision Operation
The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions. The built-in infrared LEDs illuminate the area, allowing the camera to capture clear black and white images up to 100 feet (20 meters) in complete darkness.
- Automatic Activation: An integrated light sensor detects ambient light levels and activates the IR LEDs as needed.
- IR Cut Filter: The camera includes an IR-Cut filter that automatically switches between day (color) and night (monochrome) modes to ensure accurate color reproduction during the day and enhanced night vision performance.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your security camera.
- Lens Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a lens cleaning solution designed for optical surfaces. Avoid abrasive materials.
- Housing Cleaning: Clean the camera housing with a damp cloth. Do not use strong chemical cleaners.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically check all cables for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion, especially for outdoor installations.
- Environmental Checks: Ensure no obstructions are blocking the camera's view or the IR LEDs. Clear any debris, cobwebs, or foliage.
