3. Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to assemble your Double Hanging Closet Unit. Refer to the included item list to ensure all components are present and undamaged before beginning.
3.1 Unboxing and Inventory:
- Carefully open the packaging using a razor around the outside edges to avoid scratching internal materials.
- Lay out all contents and verify against the provided item list to ensure nothing is missing or damaged.
3.2 Unit Assembly:
- Screw the cam posts into the designated holes on the side panels. Use a screwdriver or drill, being careful not to overtighten.
- Place the fixed shelves and cleats onto the cam posts. Ensure the shelves with cam lock holes face away from view.
- Attach the second side panel onto the fixed shelves and cleats. Align the cam posts into the holes and ensure all components are properly aligned. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the dowels into place if needed.
- Insert a cam lock into each hole in the cleats and fixed shelves. Ensure the arrow on the cam lock points towards the head of the screw.

4. Installation Instructions
Proper installation is crucial for the stability and longevity of your closet unit. This unit is designed for wall mounting.
4.1 Wall Preparation:
- Use a stud finder to locate wall studs where the unit will be mounted. Mark the stud locations with a pencil. Studs are typically 16 inches apart.
- Determine the desired height for your unit. While 84 inches off the ground is recommended, units can be adjusted to any desired height with sufficient space.
- Pre-drill pilot holes on the unit's cleats at each marked stud location.
4.2 Mounting the Unit:
- With the help of a second person or a third-arm support device, lift the assembled unit into position against the wall.
- Ensure the unit is level using a spirit level to avoid installation complications.
- Drill the unit directly into the wall studs through the pre-drilled pilot holes in the cleats. Use appropriate screws for secure attachment.
- For added support when installing multiple units side-by-side, you can drill a 1.25-inch screw from one unit to the other. These screws can be concealed behind hanging brackets or at the rear of the unit.

5. Operating Your Closet Unit
Your Double Hanging Closet Unit is designed for efficient and organized storage of your garments.
5.1 Utilizing Hanging Space:
- Use the two hanging rods to separate different types of shorter clothing, such as shirts on the top rod and pants or skirts on the bottom rod.
- Ensure garments are evenly distributed to maintain balance and prevent excessive strain on the rods.

6. Maintenance
To keep your Modular Closets unit in optimal condition, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary.
- Load Management: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 200 lbs for the unit. Distribute weight evenly across the hanging rods.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues during assembly or use, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Missing or Damaged Parts: Before assembly, carefully check all components against the item list. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact MC Modular Closets customer support immediately.
- Unit Not Level: During installation, use a spirit level to ensure the unit is perfectly horizontal. Adjust mounting screws as needed to achieve a level position.
- Difficulty with Cam Locks: Ensure cam posts are fully screwed in and cam locks are inserted with the arrow pointing towards the screw head before tightening. Do not overtighten.
- Unit Instability: Verify that the unit is securely mounted into wall studs. If only drywall anchors were used, consider relocating to stud locations for maximum stability.
