Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Bresser 5-in-1 Radio Sensor. This sensor is designed as a replacement outdoor unit for compatible Bresser Wi-Fi color weather stations, ensuring continuous and accurate measurement of local weather conditions.
The sensor measures outdoor temperature, air humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation amount, transmitting this data wirelessly to your compatible base station.

Figure 1: Bresser 5-in-1 Radio Sensor. This image shows the complete sensor unit, including the anemometer (wind speed cups), wind vane (wind direction), thermo-hygrometer (temperature and humidity), and rain collector.
Package Contents
- Multi-function 5-in-1 Outdoor Sensor (Base station not included)
- Mounting Hardware (screws, pole clamp)
- User Manual
Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before use.
- Keep the sensor away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations, and moisture.
- Do not disassemble or modify the sensor. This will void the warranty.
- Use only specified batteries (3 x AA, not included). Ensure correct polarity.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
- When mounting, ensure stability and safety, especially when working at heights.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the sensor unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 3 x AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely to ensure water resistance.
2. Sensor Placement and Mounting
For accurate readings, the sensor should be mounted in an open area, away from obstructions that could affect wind flow or rain collection. Ensure it is easily accessible for maintenance.

Figure 2: Mounting Options. The sensor can be mounted on top of a post, on the side of a structure, or on a pole using the provided mounting hardware.
- Ideal Location: An open area, at least 1.5 meters (5 feet) above the ground, away from buildings, trees, or other obstacles that might block wind or rain.
- Mounting Options: Use the included mounting hardware to secure the sensor. It can be attached to a pole (max diameter 30mm), a fence post, or a wall.
- Leveling: Ensure the sensor is mounted level for accurate rain collection and wind direction readings. Use a spirit level if necessary.
3. Pairing with Base Station
The existing base station typically connects automatically to the replacement outdoor sensor. If the connection is not established automatically, follow these steps:
- Ensure both the sensor and the base station are powered on and within range (up to 150 meters / 492 feet).
- On your base station, press the WIFI/SENSOR button. This will initiate a search for the new wireless sensor.
- Once connected, the local values for wind speed, wind direction, humidity, temperature, and precipitation will reliably appear on your base station's color display.
- Compatibility Note: This outdoor sensor is only compatible with Bresser weather stations with article numbers 7002510, 7002511, 7002512, and 7002513 bearing LOT number 1156743 or higher, and with weather station 7002580 (all LOT numbers). For devices with a lower LOT number, a different sensor (article number 7802510) may be required. The LOT number can be found on your device and its packaging.
Operating
Once successfully paired, the 5-in-1 sensor continuously measures and transmits various weather data to your base station.

Figure 3: Sensor Components and Measured Data. This image highlights the key components of the sensor: wind speed cups, wind direction vane, rain collector, and thermo-hygrometer. It also indicates the types of data measured: humidity, temperature, air pressure (implied by weather station function), wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation.
Measured Parameters:
- Outdoor Temperature: Measures the ambient air temperature.
- Air Humidity: Measures the relative humidity of the air.
- Wind Speed: Measured by the rotating cups.
- Wind Direction: Determined by the wind vane.
- Precipitation Amount: Collected by the rain gauge.
The sensor transmits data at a frequency of 868 MHz, with a maximum transmission range of 150 meters (492 feet) in open areas. Environmental factors and obstacles can reduce this range.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Periodically clean the sensor's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the rain collector funnel is clear of debris (leaves, dirt, insects) to prevent inaccurate precipitation readings.
- Check the wind cups and wind vane for any obstructions that might impede their movement.
Battery Replacement
- When the base station indicates low battery for the outdoor sensor, replace all 3 AA batteries.
- Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.
- After replacing batteries, the sensor should automatically re-establish connection with the base station. If not, manually re-pair as described in the Setup section.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No data displayed on base station. | Sensor not paired or out of range; low batteries; interference. |
|
| Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings. | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources; blocked ventilation. |
|
| Inaccurate wind speed/direction. | Obstructions; sensor not level; debris in wind cups/vane. |
|
| Inaccurate rain readings. | Rain collector blocked; sensor not level. |
