5. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On/Off: Use the red ON/OFF switch located on the top of the unit to control power to all connected AC outlets and USB ports. Press 'ON' to supply power and 'OFF' to cut power.
  2. AC Outlets: Insert your device's power plugs into any of the 12 AC outlets. Ensure plugs are fully inserted.
  3. USB Charging Ports: Connect your USB-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) to the USB-A or USB-C ports. The smart charging technology will automatically detect your device and deliver the optimal charging current.
  4. Indicator Lights:
    • Protected (Blue LED): Illuminates when the surge protection function is active. If this light goes out, the surge protection has been consumed, and the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
    • Grounded (Blue LED): Illuminates when the surge protector is properly connected to a grounded wall outlet. If this light is off, there may be a grounding issue with your wall outlet, and you should consult an electrician.
  5. Overload Protection Reset: If the surge protector is overloaded (exceeding 15A/1875W), the circuit breaker will trip, and the power will cut off. To restore power, unplug some devices, then press the 'Reset' button located near the power switch.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the surge protector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and the unit for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires, cracks, or loose connections. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
  • Cord Management: Use the included hook-and-loop cable tie to keep the extension cord neatly organized and prevent tangles.

7. Troubleshooting

Q: The surge protector has no power.
A: Check if the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working wall outlet. If the 'Reset' button has popped out, press it to reset the overload protection after unplugging some devices.
Q: The 'Protected' indicator light is off.
A: This indicates that the surge protection components have absorbed a significant surge and are no longer providing protection. While the outlets may still provide power, the unit should be replaced to ensure your devices remain protected from future surges.
Q: The 'Grounded' indicator light is off.
A: This suggests a grounding issue with the wall outlet. The surge protector will still provide power, but without proper grounding, its surge protection capabilities may be compromised. Consult a qualified electrician to inspect your wall outlet.
Q: USB ports are not charging devices.
A: Ensure the surge protector is powered on. Check the USB cables for damage and ensure they are properly connected to both the surge protector and your device. Verify that your device is compatible with USB charging standards.
