4.3 Wiring the Power Cable
The dash cam requires a wired connection to your motorcycle's battery for continuous power. It is recommended to have this step performed by a qualified technician if you are unsure.
- Access Battery: Open the seat or relevant panel on your motorcycle to access the battery.
- Connect Power Cable: Connect the black wire of the power cable to the negative (-) terminal of the motorcycle battery. Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal.
- Connect ACC Wire: Identify an ACC (Accessory) power source on your motorcycle that is only active when the ignition is on. Use a multimeter to verify the ACC power port. Connect the yellow wire of the dash cam's power cable to this ACC port.
- Secure Wiring: Arrange and secure all cables using cable ties to prevent them from interfering with moving parts or being damaged.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Turn the motorcycle key to the ON position. The dash cam should power on automatically and begin recording.
- Power Off: Turn the motorcycle key to the OFF position. The dash cam should automatically stop recording and power off.
5.2 Recording
The dash cam is designed for automatic loop recording once powered on. It will record video segments and overwrite the oldest files when the memory card is full.
5.3 File Access
To access recorded videos and images:
- Remove Memory Card: Power off the dash cam and carefully remove the memory card.
- Transfer Files: Insert the memory card into a computer's card reader. You can then transfer or view the files.
6. Maintenance
- Clean Lens: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear recordings.
- Check Connections: Periodically inspect all wired connections for security and signs of wear.
- Format Memory Card: It is recommended to format the memory card every few months to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important files before formatting.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the dash cam in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
7. Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam Not Powering On:
- Ensure the power cable is correctly installed and connected to the motorcycle battery and ACC power source.
