Product Overview

The ValvoMax Drainmate System is an all-in-one kit designed to simplify the oil change process. It provides a self-contained solution for draining and containing used engine oil, promoting a cleaner and more efficient maintenance experience. This system is intended to be used in conjunction with a ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve (sold separately).

Setup and Installation

Before beginning, ensure your vehicle is on a level surface and the engine has cooled sufficiently to avoid burns from hot oil. It is recommended to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection.

1. Preparing the Oil Drain Bag

The 10L Collapsible Oil Drain Bag is designed for easy storage and reuse. Unfold the bag and ensure it is stable and upright before use.

2. Installing the FlowVent Bag Attachment

The FlowVent Bag Attachment connects to the 10L Oil Drain Bag and is designed to work with the ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve (sold separately). This attachment features proprietary air vents to allow air to escape as the bag fills, preventing vacuum lock and ensuring smooth oil flow.

1. Remove the cap from the 10L Oil Drain Bag.
2. Screw the FlowVent Bag Attachment onto the opening of the drain bag until secure.
3. Ensure the attachment is firmly seated to prevent leaks.

3. Preparing the Oil Slick Dipstick Cleaner

The Oil Slick Dipstick Cleaner provides a convenient way to clean your dipstick without rags. It attaches under your vehicle's hood using the included steel clamp.

1. Locate a suitable horizontal brace or dipstick tube under the hood for attachment.
2. Secure the Oil Slick Dipstick Cleaner using the steel clamp.
3. The felt cylinder inside is ultra-absorbent and designed for multiple uses.

Operating Instructions (Oil Change Process)

This system is designed for use with a ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve (sold separately) installed on your vehicle's oil pan.

1. Connecting the Drainmate System

1. Position the 10L Oil Drain Bag with the FlowVent Attachment directly beneath your vehicle's ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve.
2. Uncap the ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve.
3. Connect the drain hose from the FlowVent Bag Attachment to the ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve. Ensure a secure connection.

2. Draining the Oil

Once the system is connected, you can initiate the oil drain. The closed system minimizes mess and allows for draining hot oil safely.

1. To open the flow, push and twist the FlowVent Bag Attachment counter-clockwise. Oil will begin to drain into the bag.
2. Monitor the oil flow until the pan is empty. The transparent bag allows for visual inspection of the oil level.
3. Once draining is complete, push and twist the FlowVent Bag Attachment clockwise to close the flow.

3. Disconnecting and Sealing

1. Carefully detach the drain hose from the ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve.
2. Cap the ValvoMax QuickTwist Drain Valve on your vehicle.
3. Remove the FlowVent Bag Attachment from the 10L Oil Drain Bag and securely cap the bag for transport.

4. Using the Disposable Funnels

The 8 oz Disposable Funnel Pack provides convenient, single-use funnels for adding new oil or other fluids. These are ideal for on-the-go use or to avoid cross-contamination.

5. Applying Oil Change Reminder Stickers

Use the included oil change reminder stickers to keep track of your maintenance schedule. These vinyl clings are designed to adhere to your windshield without leaving residue.

Maintenance and Care

1. Oil Drain Bag Care

The 10L Collapsible Oil Drain Bag is reusable. After recycling the used oil, the bag can be rinsed with a small amount of fresh oil or a suitable cleaning agent if desired, though it is primarily designed for containing used oil for recycling.

2. Oil Slick Dipstick Cleaner Maintenance

The felt cylinder in the Oil Slick Dipstick Cleaner is designed for extended use (up to 500 wipes). When its absorbency diminishes, the felt cylinder can be replaced. Replacement cylinders are available from ValvoMax.

3. Storage

Store all components of the Drainmate System in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The collapsible design of the oil drain bag allows for compact storage.
