4. Setup
- Battery Installation:
- Open the battery compartment located on the underside of the device.
- Insert the provided AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment securely.
- Placement:
- Place the stylus force gauge on the turntable platter, ensuring it is level with the record surface.
- Position the gauge so that the measurement platform is directly under the tonearm's resting position.

5. Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off:
- Press the Power button (usually marked with a power symbol) to turn the device on.
- Press and hold the Power button to turn it off. The device will also automatically shut off after 1 minute of inactivity.
- Unit Selection:
- Press the Mode (M) button to cycle through available weight units (g, oz, ct, ozt, dwt, gn, TL).
- The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD screen.
- Tare Function (Zeroing):
- Before measuring, ensure the gauge is on a stable, level surface and press the Tare (T) button to zero the display. This removes the weight of any accessories placed on the platform before measurement.
- Measuring Stylus Force:
- With the gauge powered on and zeroed, carefully lower your turntable's tonearm so that the stylus rests gently on the center of the gauge's measurement platform.
- Read the displayed weight. This is your current stylus tracking force.
- Adjust your tonearm's counterweight or anti-skate settings as needed to achieve the recommended tracking force for your cartridge. Refer to your cartridge manufacturer's specifications for the ideal range.
- Lift the tonearm, make adjustments, and re-measure until the desired force is achieved.

6. Unit Conversion
The device supports various weight units. You can switch between them using the Mode (M) button. The available units are:
- g (grams)
- oz (ounces)
- ct (carats)
- ozt (troy ounces)
- dwt (pennyweights)
- gn (grains)
- TL (Tael)
You can also configure the device to hide units you rarely use, simplifying the selection process.
