1. Introduction

The CYOEST Multi-Model STEM Kit provides an engaging and educational experience for young builders. This kit allows for the construction of four distinct wooden models: a Solar Powered Car, an Electric Biplane Glider, a Wind Powered Car, and a pair of Wooden Binoculars. Designed to stimulate curiosity and foster an understanding of basic scientific principles, each model offers a hands-on learning opportunity without the need for welding or glue.

2. Safety Information

• WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - SMALL PARTS. Not suitable for children under 3 years.
• Adult supervision is recommended during assembly and operation, especially for younger users.
• Handle all components with care. Wooden pieces may have sharp edges before assembly.
• Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Keep electronic components and batteries away from water and extreme temperatures.

3. Package Contents

Each CYOEST STEM Kit includes all necessary components for building four unique models. The kit features pre-cut wooden pieces, electrical components (motors, wires, battery holders), and accessories specific to each model. Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately (AA batteries for electric models).

4. Assembly Instructions

Each model in the kit is designed for easy self-assembly without the need for glue or special tools. Follow the step-by-step pictorial instructions provided with each individual model kit. Gently detach the wooden pieces from their sheets and connect them according to the diagrams. Pay close attention to the orientation of parts and the connection of electrical wires.

4.1. Electric Biplane Glider Assembly

The Electric Biplane Glider assembly involves connecting the wooden fuselage and wings, attaching the motor and propeller, and wiring the battery holder. Ensure all wooden tabs fit securely into their corresponding slots. Connect the motor wires to the battery holder, matching red to red and black to black, to establish the circuit.

4.2. Solar Powered Car Assembly

Assemble the chassis of the Solar Powered Car using the interlocking wooden pieces. Attach the wheels and then carefully mount the solar panel and connect its wires to the motor. This model is designed to operate directly from solar energy, eliminating the need for batteries.

4.3. Wind Powered Car Assembly

Similar to the biplane, the Wind Powered Car requires assembly of its wooden frame and wheels. The key component is the propeller and motor assembly, which is powered by batteries. Connect the motor to the battery holder following the color-coded wires. The propeller generates thrust to move the car.

4.4. Wooden Binoculars Assembly

The Wooden Binoculars are assembled by interlocking the pre-cut wooden pieces to form the body. Insert the magnifying lenses into the designated slots. This model is purely mechanical and does not require any electrical components or power sources.

5. Operating Instructions

• Electric Biplane Glider & Wind Powered Car: Insert two AA batteries (not included) into the battery holder. Ensure the wires are securely connected. The motor will activate, spinning the propeller and moving the model.
• Solar Powered Car: Place the car in direct sunlight. The solar panel will convert sunlight into electrical energy, powering the motor and making the car move. Performance may vary based on sunlight intensity.
• Wooden Binoculars: Hold the binoculars up to your eyes and look through the lenses to observe distant objects. Adjust your viewing distance for optimal clarity.

6. Maintenance

• Keep all wooden components dry to prevent warping or damage.
• Store the kit and assembled models in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
• Periodically check electrical connections for tightness and ensure no wires are frayed or exposed.
• Clean models with a dry cloth. Avoid using water or cleaning solutions on electrical components.
