2. Safety Information
Observe the following safety precautions to ensure safe operation and to avoid personal injury or damage to the device:
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight.
- Keep the device away from strong magnetic fields.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Ensure the battery is installed correctly according to polarity markings.
- Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The GC-101H requires one 6F22 9V battery (not included) for operation. A rechargeable 9V battery can also be used.
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the base of the handle.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
- Insert a 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, slide the power switch to the 'ON' position. The green LED will flash, indicating the device is active. To power off, slide the switch to the 'OFF' position.
5.2 Detection Procedure
Hold the metal detector by the handle and sweep the detection head slowly and steadily over the area to be inspected. Maintain a consistent distance from the surface. When a metal object is detected, the device will activate its alarm (sound or vibration) and the red LED will illuminate.

5.3 Indicator Lights
- Flashing Green LED: Indicates the device is powered on and operational.
- Flashing Yellow LED: Indicates low battery. Replace or recharge the 9V battery promptly.
- Red LED (illuminated): Indicates metal detection. Accompanied by an audible or vibratory alarm.
5.4 Alert Modes
The GC-101H offers two alert modes:
- Sound Mode: The device will emit an audible buzzer sound along with the red LED illumination upon metal detection.
- Vibration Mode: The device will vibrate along with the red LED illumination upon metal detection, suitable for discreet operation.
Use the alert mode switch (if present, or refer to specific model controls) to toggle between sound and vibration modes.
5.5 Detection Distances

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the plastic housing.
6.2 Battery Care
If using a rechargeable battery, ensure it is charged regularly. If using a non-rechargeable battery, replace it when the low battery indicator flashes. Always remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period (e.g., more than one month) to prevent potential battery leakage and damage.
6.3 Storage
Store the metal detector in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent scratches and impacts.
