Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or heating probe in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used: The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

- Place the Electric Skillet on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface, such as a countertop or table. Ensure there is adequate space around the skillet for ventilation.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Elite Gourmet Electric Skillet, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Skillet does not heat. | Ensure the temperature control probe is fully inserted into the skillet's receptacle and the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the outlet is receiving power. |
| Food sticks to the non-stick surface. | Ensure you are using a small amount of cooking oil or butter. Avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the non-stick coating. For stubborn residue, soak the skillet in warm, soapy water for a few minutes before cleaning. |
| Skillet smokes excessively. | This may occur during initial use due to manufacturing residues; it should dissipate quickly. Ensure the skillet is clean and free of food debris before each use. If smoking persists, reduce the temperature setting. |
