2. Safety Information
- Weight Capacity: Do not load more than 275 lbs (125 kg) on the bed frame. Exceeding this limit may cause structural damage or injury.
- Assembly Precautions: Be cautious of sharp edges and pinch points during assembly. Always follow the assembly instructions carefully to prevent instability.
- Secure Connections: Ensure all bolts, screws, and fasteners are securely tightened before use and periodically thereafter. Loose connections can lead to instability and potential hazards.
- Level Surface: Place the bed frame on a flat, level surface to ensure stability and prevent wobbling.
- Children Safety: Keep small parts and packaging materials away from children during assembly to prevent choking hazards.
- Mattress Compatibility: This bed frame is designed for a Twin-size mattress. A box spring is not required.
3. Package Contents
Before beginning assembly, verify that all components and hardware are present. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.
- Headboard Panel
- Footboard Panel
- Side Rails (2)
- Wood Slats (10)
- Support Legs (if applicable)
- Hardware Pack (screws, bolts, washers, nuts, Allen wrench)
- Assembly Instructions
Note: All necessary tools for assembly are included in the hardware pack.
4. Setup and Assembly
Assembly typically requires two adults. Follow the steps below carefully. Refer to the included diagram for visual guidance.
- Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Identify each part using the provided parts list.
- Attach Side Rails to Headboard: Connect the side rails to the headboard using the designated bolts and nuts. Hand-tighten initially.
- Attach Side Rails to Footboard: Connect the other end of the side rails to the footboard. Hand-tighten all connections.
- Tighten All Frame Connections: Once the main frame is assembled, use the provided Allen wrench to fully tighten all bolts and nuts. Ensure the frame is stable and square.
- Install Support Legs (if applicable): Attach any central support legs to the crossbeams or side rails as indicated in the detailed instructions.
- Place Wood Slats: Position the wood slats evenly across the side rails. Secure each slat to the side rails using the provided screws. It may be necessary to use a drill for securing slats if pre-drilled holes are not present on the frame, or if the provided screws are too short for a secure fit. Ensure slats are spaced appropriately for mattress support.

5. Operating Instructions
Once assembled, the SOFTSEA Twin Platform Bed Frame is ready for use.
- Mattress Placement: Place your Twin-size mattress directly onto the wooden slats. A box spring is not needed.
- Even Weight Distribution: Avoid concentrating heavy loads in one small area of the bed. Distribute weight evenly across the mattress.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life of your bed frame.
- Cleaning: Wipe the wood surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish.
- Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) inspect all bolts, screws, and connections. Tighten any that have become loose.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid placing the bed frame in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause the wood to dry out, crack, or warp. Maintain a stable room temperature and humidity.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your bed frame, refer to the following common solutions:
- Bed Squeaks or Wobbles:
- Ensure all assembly hardware (bolts, screws) are fully tightened.
- Verify the bed frame is on a level surface.
- Check that slats are properly seated and secured.
- Slats Not Securing Properly:
- If screws for slats seem too short, ensure you are using the correct screws for this step. Longer wood screws (not included) may be required for a more secure fit if the provided ones are insufficient.
- If slat holes are not pre-drilled on the frame, a drill may be needed to create pilot holes before inserting screws.
- Wood Splitting During Assembly:
- Avoid over-tightening screws, especially when working with wood.
- Ensure pilot holes are properly aligned and sized for the screws. If pilot holes are missing, drill small pilot holes before inserting screws to prevent splitting.
- Missing or Damaged Parts:
- Contact SOFTSEA customer support immediately for assistance.
