5. Installation

Follow these steps for safe and correct installation of your dimmer switch:

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the light switch you are replacing and turn off the power. Verify the power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old switch from the wall box. Disconnect the wires.
  3. Identify Wires: Identify the Live wire (L), Load wire (L1), and Neutral wire (N). A neutral wire is essential for this switch. If you do not have a neutral wire, this switch is not compatible with your wiring.

    Wiring Diagram:
    • Connect the Live wire to the 'L' terminal.
    • Connect the Load wire (to the light fixture) to the 'L1' terminal.
    • Connect the Neutral wire to the 'N' terminal.
  5. Mount the Switch: Carefully place the wired switch into a standard 60mm mounting wall box. Ensure the mounting box depth is at least 30mm. Secure the switch with the provided screws.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your dimmer switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Switch not responding after installation:
Ensure power is restored at the circuit breaker. Verify the neutral wire is correctly connected. Make sure the glass panel is properly installed before testing.
  • Lights not dimming or flickering:
Confirm that your light bulbs are dimmable and compatible with the switch (Triac LED, Incandescent, Halogen). Check if the total wattage of connected bulbs exceeds the maximum load (300W for LED, 1000W for Incandescent/Halogen).
  • Cannot connect to Wi-Fi:
Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz (5GHz is not supported). Check that your router is within range and has a stable connection. Put the switch into pairing mode by cycling power ON/OFF multiple times until the LED blinks rapidly.
  • Voice control not working:
Verify that your Smart Life account is correctly linked to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Ensure the device name in the Smart Life app matches the name you are using in voice commands. Check your internet connection.
  • LED indicator not working:
If the LED indicator is not lighting up, check the power supply to the switch. If the switch is functioning otherwise, contact support.

To maintain your CNBINGO Wi-Fi Smart Dimmer Switch:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the glass panel. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
