4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both AA batteries simultaneously with new ones. Do not mix new and old batteries, as this can lead to reduced performance or battery leakage.
4.2 Storage and Care
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not leave the remote control in extremely hot or humid environments, such as direct sunlight, near heating vents, or in a car on a hot day. This can cause malfunction or damage.
- Protect from Direct Sunlight: Do not expose the remote sensor to direct sunlight or strong lighting apparatuses, as this may interfere with its operation.
- Long-Term Storage: If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
- Cleaning: Clean the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
5. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Ensure new AA batteries are correctly installed with the proper polarity (+/-).
- Check if the batteries are depleted and replace them if necessary.
- Verify there are no obstructions between the remote control and the JVC system's IR receiver.
- Ensure you are within the operating range (approximately 10 meters).
- Intermittent operation:
- This may indicate low battery power. Replace the batteries.
- Ensure the remote is not exposed to strong light sources that could interfere with the IR signal.
- No programming needed: This remote is pre-programmed and does not require any setup codes or pairing. If it's not working, the issue is likely battery-related or an obstruction.
