Setup
1. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to move the hands and set the desired time.
- Once the time is set, push the crown back into position 1 (normal operating position).
2. Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to position 1 (first click).
- Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.

Operating the Watch
Your Sekonda Model 1828 is a quartz analog watch, meaning it operates on a battery and displays time using traditional hands. Once the time and date are set, the watch will operate continuously until the battery requires replacement.
- Time Display: The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds using three distinct hands.
- Date Display: A small window at the 3 o'clock position shows the current date.
- Water Resistance: This watch is rated for 50 meters (5 ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or prolonged water immersion. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture.
- Battery Replacement: The watch uses one LR44 battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (indicating low battery), have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
- Storage: When not in use, store the watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to solvents, detergents, perfumes, or cosmetic sprays, as these can damage the case, strap, or internal components.

Troubleshooting
- Watch not running:
- Check if the crown is fully pushed in (position 0).
- The battery may be depleted. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section under Maintenance.
- Date not changing:
- Ensure the time is set correctly for AM/PM. The date typically changes around midnight.
- If the date is stuck, try manually advancing it using the crown (position 1).
- Condensation under crystal:
- This indicates a loss of water resistance. Avoid further contact with water and seek professional service immediately to prevent internal damage.
