6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the clock's surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish.
- Power: Ensure the clock is always connected to a stable 5V/1A USB power source for continuous operation.
- Memory Battery: The CR2032 battery provides backup for time settings. If the time resets frequently after power outages, the battery may need replacement. To replace, open the battery compartment on the back of the clock and insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Placement: Avoid placing the clock in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this may affect its performance and lifespan.
7. Troubleshooting
- Problem: Clock display is blank or not turning on.
- Solution: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the clock and a working 5V/1A USB power source. Try a different USB port or power adapter.
- Problem: Time resets randomly or after a power outage.
- Solution: The CR2032 memory battery may be depleted. Replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity. The clock still requires continuous USB power for the display.
- Problem: The clock constantly cycles between time, date, and temperature, and I want it to show only the time.
- Solution: Long press the + button when the clock is displaying time and not in setting mode. This will set the display to show only the time. Long press it again to resume cycling.
- Problem: The colon (dots) between the hour and minute digits are blinking, and I want them to be static.
- Solution: The blinking colon is often a standard feature. However, some users report that the colon stops blinking when the clock is in its lowest brightness 'sleep mode' (L-SL). Try cycling through brightness levels using the - button to see if this mode is available and if it resolves the blinking. Note that this will result in a very dim display.
- Problem: The lowest brightness setting is still too bright for my bedroom at night.
- Solution: The clock's LED display may still emit significant light even at its lowest setting. Consider placing the clock in a location where its light is less disruptive, or turning it off completely at night if not needed.
