YESWELDER QB02

YESWELDER QB02 Welding Gas Regulator Flow Meter with Gas Hose User Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of the YESWELDER QB02 Welding Gas Regulator Flow Meter with Gas Hose. This integrated unit combines a regulator and flow meter, designed for precise gas flow control in MIG/TIG welding, chemical processing, and general industrial applications. It is compatible with Argon, Helium, and Argon/CO₂ mixed gas tanks.

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when working with compressed gases and welding equipment. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in serious injury or property damage.

  • Ensure the gas cylinder is securely fastened to prevent tipping.
  • Always open the cylinder valve slowly to prevent sudden pressure surges.
  • Never use oil or grease on regulator connections, as this can cause an explosion with oxygen.
  • Check all connections for leaks using a leak detection solution (e.g., soapy water) before operation.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the regulator. Contact qualified personnel for service.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Connecting the Regulator to the Gas Tank

  1. Ensure the gas cylinder valve is closed.
  2. Inspect the CGA-580 inlet nut on the regulator and the cylinder valve for any debris or damage.
  3. Thread the CGA-580 inlet nut of the regulator onto the gas cylinder valve. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to secure it firmly. Do not overtighten.
  4. Once connected, slowly open the gas cylinder valve. The pressure gauge on the regulator should indicate the cylinder pressure.

5.2 Connecting the Gas Hose

The regulator offers three connection methods for the gas hose:

  1. 1/4" Barbed Fitting: For direct connection to a 1/4" hose. Secure with the provided hose clamp.
  2. Female 9/16" x 18 Nut: For hoses with a male 9/16" x 18 fitting.
  3. Male 5/8" x 18 Fitting: For hoses with a female 5/8" x 18 nut.

Select the appropriate connection method for your welding equipment and securely attach the 8.2ft gas hose. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Adjusting Gas Flow Rate

  1. After connecting the regulator and hose, ensure the gas cylinder valve is open.
  2. Locate the flow adjustment knob on the regulator.
  3. Slowly turn the adjustment knob to increase or decrease the gas flow. The floating ball in the square flow tube will indicate the current flow rate in CFH (Cubic Feet per Hour).
  4. Adjust the flow rate according to your welding process requirements.

6.2 Reading the Pressure Gauge

The large 1 1/2-inch diameter pressure gauge displays the cylinder pressure, with a measuring range of 0-4000 PSI. This allows for easy monitoring of the remaining gas supply.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your gas regulator.

  • Leak Checks: Periodically check all connections for leaks using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. Tighten connections or replace seals as necessary.
  • Cleaning: Keep the regulator clean and free from dust, dirt, and oil. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the regulator in a clean, dry environment, disconnected from the gas cylinder.
  • Filter Inspection: The regulator features a full copper high-density macromolecule filter to remove impurities. While designed for efficiency, periodic inspection for excessive buildup is recommended.
