Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Fuego F36S-B-NG Built-in Gas Grill. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference.

The Fuego F36S-B-NG is a high-performance built-in gas grill featuring 304 stainless steel construction, triple U-shaped burners, and a large grilling area. It is designed for outdoor use and operates on natural gas.

Important Safety Information

WARNING:

  • For outdoor use only. Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
  • If you smell gas:
    1. Shut off gas to the appliance.
    2. Extinguish any open flame.
    3. Open lid.
    4. If odor continues, keep away from the appliance and immediately call your gas supplier or fire department.
  • Do not store an extra LP cylinder under or near this appliance.

  • Hot liquids remain at scalding temperatures long after cooking. Never place grill in an area where hot liquids may be encountered accidentally by children or pets.

Setup and Installation

The Fuego F36S-B-NG is designed for built-in installation. Ensure your outdoor kitchen island or counter is prepared with the correct opening dimensions for a secure fit.

Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the grill from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately. Retain all packaging materials until the unit is confirmed to be in working order.

Required Opening Dimensions

For proper installation, the opening in your counter must meet the following specifications:

  • Width: 36 3/8 inches (92.4 cm)

Gas Connection (Natural Gas)

This grill is configured for natural gas (NG) operation. All gas connections must be performed by a qualified gas technician in accordance with local codes and ordinances. Ensure the gas supply line is properly sized and has an accessible shut-off valve.

Mounting

The grill features a sleek design with an easy install mounting bracket system. Carefully lower the grill into the prepared opening. Secure it using the provided mounting brackets to ensure stability.

Operating Instructions

Pre-Operation Checklist

  • Ensure all gas connections are secure and leak-free.
  • Verify the grill lid is open before lighting.
  • Confirm the residue tray is properly installed.

Lighting the Grill

The Fuego F36S-B-NG features an electronic ignition system and LED backlit control knobs.

  1. Open the grill lid.
  2. Ensure all control knobs are in the "OFF" position.
  3. Slowly turn on the gas supply at the source.
  4. Push in and turn one control knob counter-clockwise to the "START" position. You should hear a clicking sound as the igniter sparks.
  5. Hold the knob in for a few seconds until the burner ignites. The LED backlight will illuminate.
  6. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to "OFF", wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and repeat the lighting procedure.
  7. Once one burner is lit, you can light additional burners by simply turning their respective knobs to the "START" position.

Temperature Control

The grill features three independent 20,000 BTU/hr U-shaped burners, providing a total output of 60,000 BTU/hr. This allows for precise temperature control across the grilling surface, ranging from 250°F to 700°F. The grill can reach 500°F in just 5 minutes.

Grilling Area

The F36S-B-NG offers a total grilling area of 865 sq. inches, comprising 685 sq. inches for the main cooking surface and 180 sq. inches for the warming rack. The 8mm solid 304SS grates are designed for excellent searing.

Shutting Down the Grill

When finished cooking, turn all control knobs to the "OFF" position. Then, turn off the gas supply at the source valve.

Maintenance and Care

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Fuego grill and ensure optimal performance.

Cleaning the Cooking Grates

After each use, while the grill is still warm, use a grill brush to remove any food residue from the 304SS cooking grates. For deeper cleaning, the grates can be removed and washed with warm soapy water.

Residue Tray System

The grill features an easy-to-clean drop-through residue tray system. Regularly remove and empty the residue tray to prevent grease buildup and potential flare-ups. The tray can be washed with warm soapy water.

Exterior Cleaning

Clean the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and a stainless steel cleaner. Always wipe in the direction of the grain to avoid scratching. Avoid abrasive cleaners or pads.

Burner Maintenance

Periodically inspect the U-shaped burners for any blockages or damage. Clean burner ports with a wire brush if necessary. Ensure the burner tubes are free of insect nests or debris.

Troubleshooting
