4. Operating Modes
The hygger aquarium light offers two primary operating modes: Standard Mode (Auto Cycle) and DIY Mode.
4.1 Standard Mode (Auto Cycle)
In Standard Mode, the light automatically simulates a 24-hour cycle of sunrise, midday, sunset, and night. The default setting is light on at 6:30 AM and off at 11:30 PM.
- Sunrise & Sunset Function: The light gradually ramps up from 'off' to 'on' over a fifteen-minute period, preventing light shock to fish.
- Daylight Mode: Blends white, red, green, and blue LEDs for bright, full-spectrum light.
- Moonlight Mode: Provides 6 single-colored options (red, purple, blue, cyan, green, yellow) and 10 dimmable levels.

4.2 DIY Mode
DIY Mode allows for advanced customization of the light cycle. You can set up to 8 different time slots (L1-L8) with varying intensities and colors. Sections L1-L6 are for full spectrum light, while L7 and L8 are for blue light.
- To activate DIY Mode, press and hold the SET (gear) icon and the LIGHT (bulb) icon simultaneously until the display reads "OFF".
- Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to switch to "ON" (L1 will appear). Press SET to save.
- For each time slot (L1-L8), set the desired intensity (00-100%) and the begin and end times using the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons and the SET icon to save each step. Set intensity to "00" to turn off the light for a specific period.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your hygger aquarium light.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the light fixture with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, water spots, and algae buildup. Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning.
- Water Resistance: The light has an IP68 water-resistant rating, meaning it is protected against splashes and accidental water immersion. However, it is not designed for continuous submersion. Avoid intentionally submerging the light.
- Connection Check: Ensure all power connections are secure and free from corrosion.
- LED Longevity: The LEDs are designed for long-term use (up to 30,000 hours). No routine replacement is necessary.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your hygger aquarium light, refer to the common problems and solutions below:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on. | Power supply disconnected or faulty; power outage. | Check power connections. If power was lost, reset the time and settings as needed. |
| Programming is difficult or buttons are unresponsive. | User unfamiliarity with controls; temporary software glitch. | Refer to Section 3.2 and 4.2 for detailed programming steps. Try unplugging and replugging the unit to reset. |
| Light turns off unexpectedly in Standard Mode. | Internal timer issue; power fluctuation. | Reset the light by unplugging and replugging. Re-enter time and check settings. Consider using a UPS for stable power. |
| Light loses settings after power outage. | Lack of internal battery backup for settings. | This is expected behavior for some models. Simply reset the time and desired light cycles after power is restored. |
