Setup and Installation

Installation of the YUANJS Tailgate Kick Sensor requires basic automotive electrical knowledge. It is recommended to consult a professional if you are unsure about any steps.

1. Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is off and the battery is disconnected. Identify the location under the rear bumper where the sensor will be mounted. This area should be clear of obstructions and allow for proper foot movement detection.
2. Mounting the Sensor: Secure the sensor unit to a flat, stable surface under the rear bumper using the provided screws. Ensure the "UP" marking on the sensor faces upwards. The sensor should be positioned centrally, allowing for easy foot access.
3. Wiring Connection:
   • Connect the power wires from the sensor to the vehicle's power supply (e.g., constant 12V and ground).
   • Connect the signal wire from the sensor to the electric tailgate control module. This connection is crucial and may vary depending on your vehicle's make and model. Refer to your vehicle's wiring diagram or consult a professional for precise connection points.
4. Cable Management: Route all wires securely, away from moving parts, heat sources, and sharp edges. Use cable ties or clips to prevent loose wiring.

Operating Instructions

The YUANJS Tailgate Kick Sensor allows for convenient hands-free operation of your electric tailgate.

1. Opening the Tailgate:
   • Ensure your vehicle's Keyless-Go function is active and the key fob is within range (e.g., in your pocket or bag).
   • Stand behind the vehicle, facing the tailgate.
   • Perform a quick, single kick motion under the center of the rear bumper where the sensor is installed. Do not linger your foot under the sensor.
   • The tailgate will automatically open.
2. Closing the Tailgate:
   • To close the tailgate, you can either press the tailgate close button (if available) or perform the same quick, single kick motion under the sensor.
   • The tailgate will automatically close.

Maintenance

The YUANJS Tailgate Kick Sensor is designed for low maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance:

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the sensor unit and the area around it to remove dirt, mud, or debris that might obstruct its operation. Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Inspection: Regularly inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Ensure all connections remain secure.
• Environmental Factors: Extreme weather conditions (heavy snow, ice, or standing water) may temporarily affect sensor performance. Ensure the sensor area is clear before attempting to use.
