1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective operation, setup, and maintenance of the DIYPHONE Quick 861DW 1000W Hot Air Rework Station. This device is designed for precision desoldering and rework tasks on electronic components, including phone PCBs and chips.

2. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the equipment:

  • Ensure the power supply matches the station's requirements (110V).
  • Do not touch the hot air gun nozzle or heated components directly. Use appropriate tools.
  • Operate in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes from soldering/desoldering.
  • Keep flammable materials away from the work area.
  • Always place the hot air gun in its stand when not in use. The automatic sleep function will activate.
  • Disconnect power before cleaning or maintenance.
  • This device is for professional use. Keep out of reach of children.

3. Product Overview

The Quick 861DW is a 1000W hot air rework station featuring intelligent digital display and automatic sleep functionality. It includes three programmable channels for temperature and air flow settings.

3.2 Control Panel

  • Power Switch: Turns the unit on/off.
  • Digital Display: Shows current temperature and air flow settings.
  • TEMP Up/Down Buttons: Adjusts the hot air temperature.
  • AIR Up/Down Buttons: Adjusts the air flow rate.
  • CH1, CH2, CH3 Buttons: Selects and saves preset temperature and air flow settings for quick recall.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify all items listed in Section 3.1 are present.
  2. Placement: Place the main control unit on a stable, heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure adequate space around the unit for air circulation.
  3. Connect Hot Air Gun: Connect the hot air gun handle to the designated port on the main unit.
  4. Attach Nozzle: Select the appropriate nozzle size (5mm, 6mm, or 8mm) for your task and securely attach it to the hot air gun.
  5. Position Stand: Place the hot air gun stand in a convenient location near the main unit.
  6. Grounding: Connect the ground wire to the designated terminal on the rear of the unit and to a reliable ground point.
  7. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the main unit and then to a grounded 110V AC power outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Flip the Power Switch to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate, showing the current settings.

5.2 Adjusting Temperature and Air Flow

  • Use the TEMP Up/Down buttons to set the desired temperature (range: 100-500°C).
  • Use the AIR Up/Down buttons to set the desired air flow rate.
  • The display will show the set values and then the actual values as they stabilize.

5.3 Using Preset Channels (CH1, CH2, CH3)

  • To save current settings to a channel: Adjust temperature and air flow to your desired values. Press and hold the desired channel button (CH1, CH2, or CH3) until the display indicates the settings are saved.
  • To recall saved settings: Briefly press the desired channel button (CH1, CH2, or CH3). The station will automatically adjust to the saved temperature and air flow.

5.4 Automatic Sleep Function

When the hot air gun is placed into its stand, the magnetic switch will detect its presence, and the unit will automatically enter a sleep state. The heating element will cool down, and the air flow will continue briefly to protect the element. When the hot air gun is removed from the stand, it will resume operation at the last used settings or the selected channel settings.

5.5 Desoldering Operation

  1. Select appropriate nozzle and settings for the component and PCB.
  2. Hold the hot air gun approximately 1-2 cm above the component to be desoldered.
  3. Move the hot air gun in a circular motion to ensure even heating.
  4. Once the solder melts, carefully remove the component using tweezers or a vacuum pick-up tool.
  5. Return the hot air gun to its stand immediately after use.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Ensure the unit is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the main unit and hot air gun with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Periodically inspect nozzles for blockages and clean as necessary.

6.2 Storage

Store the unit in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use. Ensure the hot air gun is properly seated in its stand.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check the power cord connection and ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • No Heat/Air Flow: Ensure the hot air gun is properly connected to the main unit. Check if the unit is in sleep mode (remove gun from stand).
  • Temperature Fluctuation: Ensure the air intake and exhaust vents on the unit are not obstructed. Operate in a stable ambient temperature.
  • Error Codes: If an error code appears on the display, power off the unit, wait a few minutes, and power it back on. If the error persists, contact customer support.
