The Vmotal GDH6 Plus is a high-performance trail camera designed for wildlife monitoring, hunting, and security applications. It features 4K video recording, 20MP image capture, a rapid 0.2-second trigger speed, and robust IP66 waterproofing for reliable outdoor use.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not immerse the camera in water for extended periods, despite its waterproof rating.
  • Use only specified batteries (8 AA batteries) or a compatible DC 6V/1.5V power adapter.
  • Keep the camera away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight for prolonged durations.

4.1. Front View

  • Main Lens: Captures images and videos.
  • PIR Sensors (3): Passive Infrared sensors for motion detection.
  • Infrared LEDs (40pcs 850nm): Provide illumination for night vision.
  • LCD Screen: Displays menu, settings, and playback.

4.2. Inside View (with cover open)

  • Control Panel: Buttons for menu navigation, playback, and settings.
  • SD Card Slot: Insert Micro SD card (up to 512GB, not included).
  • USB Port: For connecting to a computer.
  • AV Out Port: For connecting to a TV.
  • DC 6V Power Port: For external power supply.
  • Battery Compartment: Holds 8 AA batteries.
  • ON/OFF/TEST Switch: To power on, off, or enter test mode.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the camera's side latches and then the main cover.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the right side.
  3. Insert 8 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover and then the main camera cover, securing the latches.

5.2. SD Card Installation

  1. With the camera cover open, locate the Micro SD card slot on the left side, below the control panel.
  2. Insert a Micro SD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 512GB recommended) into the slot with the metal contacts facing down. Push until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, push the card in again until it clicks and springs out.

5.3. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the included strap or the adjustable mounting bracket.

5.3.1. Using the Mounting Strap

  1. Thread the mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
  2. Secure the camera to a tree or pole by wrapping the strap around it and fastening the buckle.
  3. Adjust the camera angle as needed.

5.3.2. Using the Mounting Bracket

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to a wall or flat surface using the provided screws and anchors.
  2. Screw the camera onto the threaded post of the mounting bracket located at the bottom of the camera.
  3. Adjust the bracket to achieve the desired camera angle and tighten the locking nuts.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off and Test Mode

  • OFF: The camera is powered off.
  • ON: The camera is in active mode and will begin recording based on its settings. The screen will turn off after a few seconds to conserve power.
  • TEST: The camera enters setup mode. The LCD screen will remain active, allowing you to adjust settings, view images/videos, and manually trigger captures.

6.2. Menu Navigation

In TEST mode, use the control panel buttons:

  • MENU: Enters or exits the settings menu.
  • UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT Arrows: Navigate through menu options and adjust values.
  • OK: Confirms selections.
  • SHOT: Manually captures a photo or starts recording a video (depending on current mode).
  • PLAY: Enters playback mode to review captured media.

6.3. Key Settings

Access these settings via the MENU button in TEST mode:

  • Mode: Select Photo, Video, or Photo+Video.
  • Photo Resolution: Set image quality (e.g., 20MP, 16MP, 12MP). Higher resolution provides more detail.
  • Video Resolution: Set video quality (e.g., 4K, 2.7K, 1080p).
  • PIR Interval: Time delay between detections (e.g., 5s, 10s, 30s).
  • PIR Sensitivity: Adjust detection range (High, Medium, Low).
  • Trigger Speed: The camera features an ultra-fast 0.2s trigger speed.
  • Time Lapse: Enable for capturing images at set intervals.
  • Date/Time: Set the current date and time.

6.4. Night Vision and Detection

The camera is equipped with 3 PIR sensors and 40pcs 850nm infrared LEDs, providing a detection range of 20 meters (65 feet) and an infrared light distance of 25 meters (82 feet) for clear night vision.

6.5. Playback

In TEST mode, press the PLAY button to enter playback mode. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through captured photos and videos. Press OK to play videos. Press PLAY again to exit playback mode.

6.6. Connecting to PC/TV

  • PC Connection: Use the provided USB cable to connect the camera to a computer. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to access and transfer files.
  • TV Connection: Use the provided AV cable to connect the camera to a TV. Select the appropriate AV input on your TV to view camera content.

7. Maintenance

  • Regularly check the battery level and replace batteries when low to avoid interruption in recording.
  • Clean the camera lens and PIR sensors with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear images and accurate detection.
  • Periodically format the Micro SD card to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. (Note: Formatting will erase all data on the card. Back up important files first.)
  • Ensure the camera's latches and seals are clean and free of debris to maintain its IP66 waterproof rating.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not powering on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fully charged. Verify the ON/OFF/TEST switch is in the correct position.
  • Poor image/video quality: Ensure the lens is clean. Check resolution settings in the menu. Verify sufficient lighting conditions for optimal capture.
  • Camera not detecting motion: Adjust PIR sensitivity settings. Ensure PIR sensors are not obstructed. Verify the camera is placed within the effective detection range.
  • SD card error: Ensure the SD card is correctly inserted. Try formatting the SD card (after backing up data). Use a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card.
  • Short battery life: Use high-quality AA batteries. Consider reducing the frequency of captures or video length in settings.
