1. Important Safety Instructions
Read and understand all safety instructions before operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable and its vapors are explosive. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks near the generator or fuel tank. Store fuel in an approved container in a safe location.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are dry and properly insulated. Do not touch the generator with wet hands.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the generator for proper airflow to prevent overheating.

3. Initial Setup
Before first use, the generator requires the addition of engine oil and fuel.
3.1 Add Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. Operating without sufficient oil will cause severe engine damage.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick (refer to the manual diagram for exact location).
- Unscrew and remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Carefully add approximately 0.35 liters of 4-stroke engine oil (SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 recommended) into the oil fill opening. Fill until the oil level reaches the lower edge of the oil fill opening.
- Reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick securely.
3.2 Add Fuel
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 90 or higher (E10 compatible).
- Ensure the generator is off and cool.
- Open the fuel tank cap.
- Slowly pour gasoline into the fuel tank, being careful not to overfill. The tank capacity is approximately 4.8 liters.
- Securely close the fuel tank cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position. If warm, move to "RUN".
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull sharply and quickly. Repeat if necessary until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before connecting electrical loads.
4.2 Normal Operation
After starting, the generator will run at a speed appropriate for the connected load. Connect your appliances to the AC or USB outlets as needed. Do not exceed the generator's rated output.
4.3 Eco Mode
Press the ECO switch to activate Eco Mode. In this mode, the engine speed automatically adjusts to the connected load, reducing fuel consumption and noise levels. This mode is recommended for lighter loads or when quiet operation is desired. For heavy loads or when starting high-current devices, it is advisable to switch off Eco Mode.
4.4 Parallel Operation
The DQ-2100 supports parallel operation, allowing two identical units to be connected to double the available power output. A parallel connection kit (sold separately) is required.
Figure 4.1: Two DQ-2100 generators connected via a parallel kit to combine their power output.
- Ensure both generators are off and on a level surface.
- Connect the parallel cables to the designated parallel ports on both generators.
- Start both generators individually as described in section 4.1.
- Once both generators are running stably, connect your load to the parallel kit's output receptacle.
4.5 Shutting Down the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable operation of your generator. Always ensure the generator is off and cool before performing any maintenance.
