5. Setup
5.1 Mounting the Camera
- Choose a Location: Select a suitable outdoor location for optimal surveillance coverage. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the camera's weight.
- Mark Drilling Points: Use the camera's mounting base as a template to mark the screw holes on the wall or ceiling.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points. Insert wall plugs if mounting on masonry.
- Secure the Camera: Attach the camera base to the mounting surface using the provided screws. Adjust the pan, tilt, and rotation to achieve the desired viewing angle.
5.2 Wiring and Connectivity
The HCC3359T-AN1/28 camera uses a BNC connector for video output and a DC power input.

Figure 2: Example of a BNC coaxial cable, used for connecting the camera to a DVR.
- Connect Video Cable: Connect a coaxial cable with BNC connectors from the camera's video output port to an available video input port on your compatible HDCVI/HDTVI/AHD/CVBS DVR.
- Connect Power: Connect a 12V DC power adapter (not included) to the camera's power input port. Ensure the power source is stable and within the specified voltage range.
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, power on the DVR and then the camera. The camera should initialize and begin transmitting video.
6. Operating
6.1 Video Output Mode Switching
The camera supports 4-in-1 video output modes: CVI, TVI, AHD, and CVBS. The default mode is typically CVI. To switch modes, you will usually use a compatible DVR's OSD (On-Screen Display) control via coaxial cable, or a dedicated UTC (Up The Coax) controller. Refer to your DVR's manual for specific instructions on accessing and changing camera settings.
6.2 Full-color Starlight Feature
This camera utilizes full-color starlight technology, allowing it to capture color images in very low-light conditions without relying solely on infrared (IR) illumination. When ambient light levels drop, the camera's white light LEDs will activate to provide illumination, enabling full-color video up to 40 meters (131.23 ft) distance.
6.3 Audio Functionality
The camera features a built-in microphone for audio capture. When connected to a compatible DVR that supports audio over coaxial cable (AoC), the audio stream will be transmitted along with the video. Ensure your DVR is configured to record audio from the corresponding channel.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the camera lens and housing to ensure clear image quality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
7.2 Environmental Considerations
The camera is designed for outdoor use with an IP67 rating, protecting it from dust and temporary immersion in water. However, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions or direct high-pressure water jets should be avoided to maximize its lifespan.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Video Output:
- Check power connection to the camera.
- Verify the coaxial cable connection between the camera and DVR.
- Ensure the camera's video output mode (CVI/TVI/AHD/CVBS) matches the DVR's input channel setting.
- Test with a different power supply or cable if available.
- Poor Image Quality:
- Clean the camera lens.
- Check for obstructions in the camera's field of view.
- Ensure adequate lighting in the surveillance area, especially for full-color mode.
- Verify cable quality and connections. Long or poor-quality coaxial cables can degrade signal.
- No Audio:
- Confirm the camera model has a built-in microphone.
- Ensure your DVR supports audio over coaxial cable (AoC) and is configured to record audio for the specific channel.
- Check DVR audio settings.
