Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.
General Safety Precautions:
- Read the Entire Manual: Understand all instructions and warnings before use.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, long pants, and sturdy, non-slip footwear. A hard hat is recommended for overhead work.
- Keep Bystanders Away: Maintain a safe distance of at least 50 feet (15 meters) from other people and animals.
- Inspect Before Each Use: Check for loose parts, damaged components, or fuel leaks. Do not operate if damaged.
- Fuel Handling: Mix and refuel outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Do not smoke or use open flames near fuel. Allow the engine to cool before refueling.
- Secure Grip: Always hold the tool firmly with both hands.
- Avoid Kickback: Be aware of potential kickback, especially with the pole saw and brush cutter.
- Work Area: Ensure your work area is clear of obstacles, debris, and other hazards.
- Weather Conditions: Do not operate in rain, wet conditions, or extreme weather.

Assembly
The MELLCOM 4-in-1 tool features a modular design for quick attachment changes. Follow these general steps for assembly:
- Connect Engine Unit to Pole: Align the engine unit with the main shaft or extension pole. Secure it firmly using the provided locking mechanism or screws.
- Attach Desired Tool Head: Select the appropriate attachment (hedge trimmer, pole saw, grass trimmer, or brush cutter). Align the attachment with the end of the pole and secure it. Ensure all connections are tight before operation.
- Install Handle and Shoulder Strap: Attach the auxiliary handle to the pole in a comfortable position. Connect the shoulder strap to the designated points on the tool to distribute weight and reduce fatigue during use.

Fuel Mixing
This tool is equipped with a 2-cycle engine and requires a specific mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Do not use pure gasoline or automotive oil.
- Recommended Ratio: Mix unleaded gasoline with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 25:1 to 50:1 (e.g., 25 parts gasoline to 1 part oil, or 50 parts gasoline to 1 part oil). Refer to the engine unit for specific markings or the oil manufacturer's recommendations.
- Mixing Procedure: Use the provided mixing tank. First, pour half the required amount of gasoline into the tank, then add the entire amount of 2-cycle oil. Shake well, then add the remaining gasoline and shake again.
- Storage: Store mixed fuel in a properly labeled, approved container in a cool, dry place away from ignition sources. Do not store mixed fuel for more than 30 days.

- Once the engine sputters or briefly starts, move the choke lever to the 'HALF CHOKE' position.
- Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts and runs.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few seconds, then move the choke lever to the 'OPEN' (run) position.
Hot Start (Engine is already warm):

- Ensure the choke lever is in the 'OPEN' (run) position.
- Pull the starter rope firmly and steadily until the engine starts.

Operating Instructions
Always maintain a firm grip and proper balance during operation. Use the shoulder strap to reduce strain.
Pole Saw Operation:
- Ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated with chain oil.
- The pole saw can cut branches up to 10 inches in diameter.
- Use the extension pole for reaching high branches, avoiding the need for ladders.
- Make relief cuts to prevent pinching and control the fall direction of branches.
- The head is 180° adjustable for multi-angle operation.

Hedge Trimmer Operation:
- Ideal for shaping and maintaining hedges and shrubs.
- The hedge trimming tool is approximately 17.13 feet long when fully extended and can be rotated 180° for various cutting angles.
- Move the trimmer smoothly and evenly across the hedge.

Grass Trimmer Operation:
- Use for trimming grass around obstacles, edges, and small weeds on lawns.
- Features a cutting width of up to 17 inches (380 mm) for efficient work.
- Tap-and-go line feed system for easy line advancement.
Brush Cutter Operation:
- Equipped with a sharp 3-tooth heavy-duty blade for tackling dense vegetation, thick grass, and small saplings.
- Always be aware of potential kickback when using the brush cutter blade.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your tool.
- Air Filter: Clean the air filter regularly (every 5-10 hours of operation, or more frequently in dusty conditions). A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance and cause damage.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace if fouled or worn. Ensure the gap is correct.
- Blades and Chains: Keep all blades and saw chains sharp and free of debris. Sharpen or replace as needed. Lubricate the pole saw chain before and during use.
- General Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool thoroughly, removing grass, dirt, and debris from the engine, attachments, and air vents.
- Storage: For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank or run the engine until it runs out of fuel. Clean the tool, apply a light coat of oil to metal parts to prevent rust, and store in a dry, secure location.
