4. Setup
4.1 Power Supply
The machine can be powered by either the included AC/DC adapter or 4 AA batteries (not included).
- Using AC/DC Adapter: Insert the adapter plug into the AC/DC input jack on the back of the machine. Plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet.
- Using Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the machine. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.

4.2 Foot Pedal Connection
For hands-free speed control, connect the foot pedal to the foot pedal input jack on the machine.
4.3 Threading the Machine
Proper threading is crucial for correct stitch formation.
Upper Threading:
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Guide the thread through the first thread guide.
- Pass the thread down and around the upper thread tension dial.
- Bring the thread up and through the take-up lever (ensure the take-up lever is at its highest position).
- Guide the thread down through the remaining thread guides to the needle.
- Thread the needle from front to back. Pull about 15 cm (6 inches) of thread through the needle eye.
Bobbin Threading:
- Raise the needle to its highest position using the handwheel.
- Slide open the bobbin cover plate.
- Insert a wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
- Guide the bobbin thread through the tension spring slot.
- Close the bobbin cover plate.
- Hold the upper thread lightly and turn the handwheel towards you to lower and raise the needle. The needle will catch the bobbin thread, bringing it up through the needle plate.
- Pull both upper and bobbin threads under the presser foot and towards the back of the machine.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Stitch Selection
Turn the pattern selection dial to choose one of the 12 available stitch patterns. Refer to the stitch guide on the machine for visual reference.

5.2 Speed Control
The machine has two speed settings: Low (L) and High (H). Use the 'Power Off & Speed Switch' to select your desired speed. For beginners, it is recommended to start with the Low speed setting.
5.3 Starting to Sew
- Place the fabric under the presser foot.
- Lower the presser foot lifter.
- Turn the handwheel towards you to lower the needle into the fabric at the starting point.
- Press the foot pedal or slide the speed switch to 'L' or 'H' to begin sewing.
- Guide the fabric gently as it feeds through the machine. Do not pull or push the fabric forcefully.
5.4 Reverse Sewing
To reinforce stitches at the beginning and end of a seam, press and hold the reverse button while sewing. Release the button to resume forward sewing.
5.5 Winding a Bobbin
- Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder pin.
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Guide the thread through the bobbin winder tension disk.
- Wrap the thread around the empty bobbin a few times.
- Push the bobbin winder pin to the right (towards the bobbin winder stop).
- Start the machine (using the foot pedal or speed switch). The bobbin will begin to wind.
- Once the bobbin is full, stop the machine, cut the thread, and push the bobbin winder pin back to the left.
5.6 Sewing Sleeves and Cuffs
The free arm design allows for easy sewing of cylindrical items. Simply remove the accessory drawer to expose the free arm, then slide the sleeve or cuff onto it.
5.7 Overlock Function
Select an overlock stitch pattern from the dial to finish raw fabric edges, preventing fraying.
5.8 Replacing the Presser Foot
To change the presser foot, raise the needle and presser foot to their highest positions. Locate the presser foot release lever at the back of the presser foot holder. Press the lever to release the current foot. Align the new presser foot with the holder and lower the presser foot lifter until it snaps into place.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal performance.
- Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and under the needle plate.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
6.2 Needle Replacement
Replace bent or dull needles to prevent skipped stitches and fabric damage.
- Raise the needle to its highest position.
- Loosen the needle clamp screw.
- Remove the old needle.
- Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine, pushing it up as far as it will go.
- Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine not starting | No power, foot pedal not connected, speed switch off | Check power connection, ensure foot pedal is plugged in, turn speed switch to L or H. |
| Skipped stitches | Incorrect needle, bent needle, improper threading | Replace needle, re-thread machine (both upper and bobbin). |
| Thread breaking | Incorrect tension, poor quality thread, needle bent/dull | Adjust tension dial, use good quality thread, replace needle. |
| Fabric jamming | Incorrect threading, too thick fabric, pulling fabric forcefully | Re-thread, ensure fabric is suitable for machine, guide fabric gently. |
| Uneven stitches | Incorrect tension, dull needle, inconsistent fabric feeding | Adjust tension, replace needle, ensure even fabric guidance. |
