User Manual
1. Introduction
This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Dahua Technology DH-PFS3006-4ET-60 4-Port 60W PoE Ethernet Switch. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper and safe operation.
The DH-PFS3006-4ET-60 is designed for reliable and efficient power and data transmission in various networking environments, particularly for long-distance video surveillance applications.
2. Product Overview
The Dahua DH-PFS3006-4ET-60 is a commercial PoE switch specifically engineered for long-distance video transmission. It utilizes LD PoE (Long-Distance Power over Ethernet) technology, enabling power and data transmission up to 250 meters (820 feet), significantly extending the standard 100-meter limit. This capability ensures compatibility with various PoE-compliant cameras and devices, even from third-party manufacturers.
The switch features four (4) 10/100 Mbps PoE ports for connecting powered devices and two (2) 100 Mbps uplink ports for network connectivity. It also includes two selectable transmission modes, Default and Extend, controlled by onboard DIP switches, offering flexibility for different deployment scenarios.

5. Setup
- Unpack the Switch: Carefully remove the switch and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
- Connect Power:
- Connect the power cord to the power adapter.
- Connect the power adapter's DC output plug to the power input port on the rear of the switch.
- Plug the power cord into a standard AC power outlet. The PWR LED on the front panel should illuminate, indicating the switch is powered on.
- Select Transmission Mode (DIP Switch):
The switch features a DIP switch on the front panel to select between "Default" and "Extend" modes. Ensure the switch is set to the desired mode before connecting devices.
- Default Mode: Standard Ethernet transmission (100m/328ft) at 10/100 Mbps.
- Extend Mode: Long-distance PoE transmission (up to 250m/820ft) at 10 Mbps. This mode is ideal for extending reach to remote PoE devices like IP cameras.
- Connect Network Devices:
- PoE Devices: Connect your PoE-powered devices (e.g., IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points) to any of the four (4) PoE ports (PoE1-PoE4) using standard Ethernet cables. The Link/Act and PoE LEDs for the respective port will illuminate when a valid connection and power delivery are established.
- Uplink to Network: Connect the switch to your main network (e.g., router, NVR, or another switch) using one of the two (2) uplink ports (Uplink1, Uplink2). The Link/Act LED for the connected uplink port will illuminate.
6. Operating the Switch
Once powered on and connected, the DH-PFS3006-4ET-60 operates automatically. The following describes the LED indicators and their functions:
| LED Indicator | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| PWR | On | The switch is powered on. |
| Link/Act (Per Port) | On | A network device is connected to the port. |
| Flashing | Data is being transmitted or received through the port. | |
| PoE (Per PoE Port) | On | Power is being supplied to the connected PoE device. |
| Flashing | PoE fault or overload detected on the port. |
Transmission Modes:
- Default Mode: Operates as a standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch. All ports communicate at full speed within the standard 100-meter range.
- Extend Mode: When enabled via the DIP switch, the PoE ports (PoE1-PoE4) will operate at 10 Mbps, but can transmit data and power up to 250 meters. This mode is specifically designed for long-distance surveillance applications where lower bandwidth is acceptable for extended reach.
7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Dahua PoE switch, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.
- Environment: Operate the switch within the specified temperature and humidity ranges (refer to Specifications section). Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, or strong electromagnetic fields.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate airflow around the switch. Do not block ventilation holes.
- Cable Management: Keep network cables neatly organized to prevent strain on ports and improve airflow.
- Power Supply: Use only the provided power adapter. If a replacement is needed, ensure it meets the exact specifications.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Dahua PoE switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power (PWR LED Off) | Power cord or adapter not connected properly; Power outlet faulty. | Check all power connections. Try a different power outlet. Ensure the power adapter is functioning. |
| No Link/Activity (Link/Act LED Off) | Ethernet cable faulty or disconnected; Connected device is off or faulty; Incorrect cable type. | Ensure cables are securely connected. Check if the connected device is powered on and working. Try a different Ethernet cable. |
| PoE Device Not Receiving Power (PoE LED Off) | Device is not PoE-compatible; Cable length exceeds limit; PoE budget exceeded; Faulty cable or device. | Verify the device is PoE-compatible (IEEE802.3af/at). Check cable length (max 100m in Default, 250m in Extend). Ensure total power consumption does not exceed 60W. Try a different port or cable. |
| Slow Network Speed in Extend Mode | This is expected behavior. | In Extend mode, port speed is reduced to 10 Mbps to achieve long-distance transmission. This is normal. If higher speed is required, switch to Default mode (max 100m). |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact technical support.
