4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Installation for Group 1 (9 kg to 18 kg)

For children weighing between 9 kg and 18 kg, the car seat must be secured to the vehicle using the vehicle's seat belt. The child must use the car seat's own 5-point safety harness.

1. Place the car seat on the vehicle's seat, facing forward.
2. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated belt paths on the car seat. Refer to the labels on the car seat for correct routing.
3. Buckle the vehicle's seat belt and pull it tight to remove any slack, ensuring the car seat is firmly secured and does not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
4. Place the child in the car seat and fasten the 5-point harness. Adjust the shoulder straps to be at or slightly above the child's shoulders.
5. Tighten the harness straps until snug against the child's body, ensuring you cannot pinch any slack at the collarbone.

4.2. Installation for Group 2 and 3 (15 kg to 36 kg)

For children weighing between 15 kg and 36 kg, the car seat is used without its internal 5-point safety harness. The child is secured directly by the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.

1. Remove the car seat's internal 5-point harness system. Consult the car seat's labels or specific instructions for harness removal.
2. Place the car seat on the vehicle's seat, facing forward.
3. Place the child in the car seat.
4. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt across the child and through the designated belt guides on the car seat. The lap belt should be low on the child's hips, touching the tops of the thighs, and the shoulder belt should lie across the middle of the child's shoulder and chest.
5. Buckle the vehicle's seat belt and pull it tight to remove any slack.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting the Headrest

The headrest is adjustable to multiple positions to accommodate your child's growth. To adjust, locate the adjustment lever (usually at the back or top of the headrest), squeeze or pull it, and slide the headrest up or down to the desired height. Ensure the headrest is locked into position before use.

5.2. Adjusting the 5-Point Harness (Group 1)

The 5-point harness has 3 positions for height adjustment at the shoulders. To adjust the harness height:

1. Unthread the harness straps from the back of the car seat.
2. Re-thread the straps through the harness slots that are at or just above your child's shoulders.
3. Ensure the straps are not twisted and are securely re-attached to the splitter plate at the back of the seat.

To tighten or loosen the harness, use the harness adjuster strap located at the front of the seat. Press the release button (if applicable) and pull the harness straps to loosen, or pull the adjuster strap to tighten.
