Before beginning any work, ensure the pool pump and all associated electrical components are turned off at the main circuit breaker. This prevents accidental startup and electrical hazards.
4.2. Step 2: Drain Water
Open the air relief valve at the top of your pool filter to allow water to drain from the system. This will lower the water level in the plumbing, preventing water from spilling when the salt cell is removed.
4.3. Step 3: Remove Old Salt Cell
Locate the existing salt cell in your pool's plumbing system. The cell is typically installed in-line with the return plumbing to the pool. Unscrew the locking ring that secures the cell to the plumbing. Carefully lift the old salt cell assembly out of its housing. Disconnect the power cable from the control box.
