Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Kompak KP-KGG20000LEK-T Gasoline Generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.

The Kompak KP-KGG20000LEK-T is a professional-grade gasoline generator designed for both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (400V) power output, featuring a robust 2V engine with low oil level alarm and automatic shutdown. It offers a maximum power output of 15 kW (230V) / 20.6 kVA (400V).

2. Safety Instructions

Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of injury or damage.

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never operate the generator indoors or in poorly ventilated areas. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, and deadly gas.
  • Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator.
  • Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly grounded. Never touch live electrical parts.
  • Hot Surfaces: The engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
  • Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts such as the fan and flywheel.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator, especially during operation.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including hearing protection and safety glasses, when operating the generator.

3. Setup

Before first use, perform the following setup steps:

  1. Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
  2. Wheel Set Assembly: The generator includes a wheel set for portability. Attach the wheels and handles according to the diagrams provided in the separate assembly guide (if applicable) or by securing them to the designated mounting points on the frame.
  3. Add Engine Oil: The engine is shipped without oil. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and add the recommended engine oil (refer to specifications for type and capacity) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  4. Add Fuel: Ensure the generator is off and cool. Open the fuel tank cap and carefully fill with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not fill above the fuel filter screen. Securely close the fuel cap.
  5. Positioning: Place the generator on a firm, level surface in a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from windows, doors, and vents. Ensure at least 1 meter of clear space around the generator.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely start and operate your generator.

  1. Pre-Start Checks:
    • Check engine oil level.
    • Check fuel level.
    • Ensure all electrical loads are disconnected from the generator.
    • Verify the generator is on a level surface.
  2. Starting the Engine:
    • Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position.
    • Move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position (if the engine is cold).
    • Turn the engine switch to the 'ON' position.
    • Pull the recoil starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly. Repeat if necessary.
    • Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.
  3. Connecting Electrical Loads:
    • Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes.
    • Plug in the appliances or extension cords into the appropriate 230V (single-phase) or 400V (three-phase) outlets.
    • Do not overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.
  4. Stopping the Engine:
    • Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
    • Allow the engine to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
    • Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
    • Turn the fuel valve to the 'OFF' position.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable performance of your generator.

  • Engine Oil: Check oil level before each use. Change oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 100 hours or annually.
  • Air Filter: Inspect the air filter every 50 hours or monthly. Clean or replace if dirty. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary. Ensure proper gap.
  • Fuel Filter: Inspect and clean the fuel filter periodically. Replace if damaged.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the generator clean and free of debris. Use a dry cloth to wipe down surfaces. Do not use water to clean the engine or electrical components.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or add a fuel stabilizer. Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder, then pull the recoil starter a few times to distribute the oil.
