Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install the workbench casters:
- Identify Components: Familiarize yourself with the parts of the caster assembly. The main components include the mounting plate, quick-release plate, pedal, and wheel.
- Fix the Quick Release Plate: Position the quick-release plate on the leg of your workbench where you intend to mount the caster. Ensure it is at a suitable height to allow the caster to lift the workbench off the ground when engaged. Use the provided screws and mounting bolts to securely attach the quick-release plate to the workbench leg.
- Attach the Caster Assembly: Once the quick-release plate is firmly attached, align the caster assembly with the plate. Pull up the spring-loaded mechanism on the caster assembly and slide it onto the quick-release plate until it clicks securely into place.
- Repeat for all Casters: Install all four casters on each leg of your workbench. Ensure they are all at the same height for balanced lifting.

Operation
Operating the SPACEKEEPER Workbench Casters is straightforward:
- Engage Casters (Raise Workbench): To raise your workbench and engage the casters for mobility, simply step down firmly on the textured pedal of each caster. The pedal will pivot, lifting the workbench slightly off the floor onto the wheels.
- Move Workbench: Once all four casters are engaged, you can easily move your workbench to the desired location. The urethane wheels and swivel design allow for smooth 360-degree movement.
- Disengage Casters (Lower Workbench): To lower your workbench back onto its legs and disengage the casters, lift up on the pedal of each caster. The casters will retract, allowing the workbench to rest firmly on the floor at its original working height.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your casters:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the wheels and caster mechanisms to remove dust, debris, and sawdust that may accumulate and hinder movement.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of general-purpose lubricant to the swivel bearings and pivot points annually or as needed to maintain smooth operation.
- Hardware Check: Regularly inspect all mounting bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if any looseness is detected.
- Wheel Inspection: Check the urethane wheels for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace casters if significant damage is observed.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your workbench casters, consider the following:
- Casters not engaging/disengaging smoothly: Check for debris in the mechanism or if the pivot points require lubrication. Ensure the quick-release plate is securely mounted and not obstructing movement.
- Workbench not level when lifted: Verify that all casters are installed at the same height and are engaging fully. Check for uneven floor surfaces.
- Difficulty moving workbench: Ensure the load does not exceed the 660 lbs capacity. Check wheels for obstructions or damage. Lubricate swivel bearings if movement feels stiff.
- Casters detaching from quick-release plate: Ensure the caster assembly is fully engaged with the quick-release plate and the spring-loaded mechanism is functioning correctly. Inspect the quick-release plate for damage or wear.
