Setup and Installation

The iFilters CNTP-1C system is designed for quick and easy installation without the need for drilling or specialized tools. Follow these steps:

  1. Unpack Components: Remove all items from the packaging and ensure everything listed in the 'Package Contents' section is present.
  2. Prepare Faucet: Unscrew the aerator from your existing kitchen faucet.
  3. Attach Faucet Adapter: Select the appropriate thread size adapter from the included set that matches your faucet. Screw the diverter valve onto your faucet. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  4. Connect Tubing: Connect the flexible tubing from the filter unit to the diverter valve. Push the tubing firmly into the quick-connect fitting on the diverter valve until it is secure.
  5. Position Filter: Place the filter unit on your countertop near the sink.
  6. Flush the Filter: Before first use, turn on the cold water faucet and switch the diverter valve to allow water to flow through the filter. Let the water run for approximately 5-10 minutes to flush out any carbon fines and air from the new filter cartridge. The water may appear cloudy initially; this is normal and will clear up.

Operation

Once installed and flushed, operating your iFilters CNTP-1C system is straightforward:

  • To Obtain Filtered Water: Turn on your cold water faucet. Then, switch the diverter valve lever to direct water flow through the filter unit. Filtered water will dispense from the filter's spout.
  • To Use Unfiltered Tap Water: Switch the diverter valve lever back to its original position. Water will then flow directly from your faucet as usual.
  • Flow Rate: The system provides a maximum flow rate of 0.5 gallons per minute for filtered water.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and water quality:

  • Replacing the Filter:
    1. Turn off the cold water supply to your faucet.
    2. Switch the diverter valve to release pressure from the filter.
    3. Use the included filter wrench to unscrew the filter housing.
    4. Remove the old filter cartridge and discard it.
    5. Clean the inside of the filter housing with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
    6. Insert a new CBSM-2510 filter cartridge, ensuring it is properly seated.
    7. Screw the filter housing back on by hand, then tighten with the wrench until snug (do not overtighten).
    8. Turn on the cold water supply and flush the new filter for 5-10 minutes as described in the 'Setup and Installation' section.
