3. Setup and Installation
The Blue Star PC12DB is a portable unit and does not require an outdoor unit. Follow these steps for proper setup.
3.1. Unit Placement
- Place the unit on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure there is at least 30 cm (12 inches) of space around the unit for proper air circulation.
- Position the unit near a window or opening to allow for exhaust hose installation.
- The recommended floor area for effective cooling is approximately 110 square feet.

3.2. Exhaust Hose Installation
- Attach the exhaust hose to the outlet on the back of the unit.
- Extend the exhaust hose to the nearest window or opening.
- Use the provided window kit to seal the opening around the exhaust hose, preventing hot air from re-entering the room.
- Ensure the exhaust hose is as short and straight as possible to maximize cooling efficiency. Avoid kinks or sharp bends.
3.3. Power Connection
- Plug the power cord into a grounded 230 Volt electrical outlet.
- Do not use extension cords or multi-plugs with this appliance.
4. Operating Instructions
Your Blue Star PC12DB Portable AC can be controlled using the feather touch electronic panel on the unit or the included remote control.

4.1. Control Panel Functions
- Power Button (⏻): Turns the unit ON or OFF.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Air Filter Cleaning
The air filters (Anti Bacterial and Dust filters) should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
- Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- Locate and remove the air filter(s) from the back or side of the unit. Refer to the unit's diagram for exact location.
- Wash the filters with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow the filters to air dry completely before reinstalling them. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Reinstall the dry filters and plug the unit back in.
5.2. Condensate Drainage
The unit collects condensate water during operation. Depending on humidity levels, you may need to drain it periodically.
- Unplug the unit.
- Locate the drain plug at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Place a shallow pan or tray under the drain plug.
- Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
- Once drained, replace the drain plug securely.
5.3. Unit Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- For long-term storage, ensure the unit is completely drained and dry. Clean the filters.
- Store the unit upright in a cool, dry place, covered to protect from dust.
