Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Prepare the Vehicle: Open the hood of your GMC Sierra. Use a plastic trim removal tool to carefully remove the 12 plastic clips securing the plastic cover along the top of the grille. Remove this plastic cover.
  2. Remove Fender Bolts: Using a 7mm socket, remove the two bolts located on the fender and tucked behind the fender liner. Gently pull the plastic fender piece to access the hidden bolt.
  3. Remove Bumper Valance Screws: Use a T15 Torx bit to remove the screw on the underside of the plastic fender piece.
  4. Remove Bumper Valance: Carefully pry the bumper valance away from the vehicle, working from the outside in. Some force may be required as it is held by clips. Repeat steps 2-4 for the other side of the vehicle.
  5. Remove Grille Bolts: Using a 10mm socket, remove the four bolts located along the bottom side of the grille.
  6. Remove Grille: With one hand, grab the metal tabs where the 10mm bolts were removed earlier and pry upward. With the other hand, grab the bottom of the grille and pull up and away from the vehicle, working from one side to the other.
  7. Remove Factory Headlamp: There are four 10mm bolts holding the factory headlamp in place (two on top, two on bottom). Remove these bolts. Pull the headlamp up and away from the vehicle, then disconnect the factory electrical connector.
  8. Transfer Components: Transfer the rubber weather seal/fastener from your factory headlamp to the new ANZO USA headlamp. Use a trim removal tool to pop the clips over the five plastic studs holding it in place. For the stock lamp, use a T10 Torx bit to remove the two screws from the bottom of the fastener.
  9. Connect New Headlamp: Plug the new ANZO USA headlamp into the factory harness. If your truck is a 2016-2018 model, use the included adapter harness. For 2015 models, direct plug-in is applicable.
  10. DRL Harness Installation (if applicable): If your truck did not come equipped with factory Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), you will need to install the included add-a-fuse harness. Remove the cover to your fuse box. Pull the 15-amp fuse in slot 34 using needle-nose pliers and replace it with the fuse portion of the add-a-fuse harness. Plug the other end into the back of the headlamp. Route the remaining end of the add-a-fuse harness to the headlamp on the other side of the vehicle.
  11. Reassembly: Reverse the removal steps to reassemble the grille, bumper valance, and plastic covers. Ensure all bolts and clips are securely fastened.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the headlamp lenses regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the polycarbonate lens.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the headlamps for any signs of damage, loose connections, or condensation. The headlamps are designed to be waterproof, but extreme conditions or improper installation can affect their integrity.
  • Bulb Replacement: These headlamps utilize integrated LEDs and do not require traditional bulb replacement. If an LED component fails, contact customer support for assistance.

Troubleshooting

  • Lights Not Functioning: Check all electrical connections to ensure they are secure. Verify that the vehicle's fuses are intact and correctly installed. If an add-a-fuse harness was used, ensure it is properly seated.
  • Condensation Inside Lens: Small amounts of condensation can occur due to temperature changes and typically dissipate. If excessive or persistent condensation is present, ensure the breather vents are clear and the housing is properly sealed. Contact customer support if the issue persists.
  • Improper Beam Pattern: Adjust the headlamp aim using the integrated adjustment screws. If the issue persists, verify proper installation and mounting.
