Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your stand mixer, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Mixer does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not working; speed control not at "O". | Ensure plug is fully inserted. Test outlet with another appliance. Turn speed control to "O" before turning on. |
| Attachment does not reach ingredients at bottom of bowl. | Attachment not fully seated; too small a batch for the bowl. | Ensure attachment is pushed up and twisted securely. For very small quantities, consider using a hand mixer or increasing batch size. |
| Mixer head lifts during operation. | Head not locked down; excessive load. | Ensure mixer head is fully lowered and locked into place. Reduce batch size or consistency if mixing very heavy dough. |
| Unusual noise or vibration. | Attachment not properly installed; bowl not locked; foreign object in bowl. | Check that attachment is securely installed. Ensure bowl is locked. Turn off and unplug, then check for any obstructions in the bowl or around the attachment. |
| Motor seems strained or overheats. | Overloading the mixer; continuous operation for too long. | Reduce the amount of ingredients. Allow the mixer to cool down for at least 20 minutes before resuming operation. Refer to recipe guidelines for maximum batch sizes. |
