1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Kompak K8000 gasoline generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.
The Kompak K8000 is a robust gasoline-powered generator designed to provide reliable electrical power. It features a 4-stroke engine, AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation), and a durable frame with wheels for portability.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never operate the generator indoors or in enclosed spaces. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate in wet conditions. Ensure all connections are dry and secure. Ground the generator properly.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke near the generator.
- Hot Surfaces: The engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact.
- Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating or maintaining the generator.

- Engine: 4-stroke gasoline engine.
- Muffler: Reduces engine noise and directs exhaust gases.
- Wheels and Handles: For easy transportation.
- Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick: For checking and adding engine oil.
- Air Filter: Protects the engine from dust and debris.
4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Assembly
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. The Kompak K8000 comes with wheels and handles for assembly.
- Attach the wheels to the generator frame using the provided hardware.
- Install the handles for easier maneuvering.
- Ensure all bolts and nuts are securely tightened.
4.2 Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. It is critical to add the correct type and amount of oil before first use.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Add recommended 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., SAE 10W-30) to the crankcase until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.
4.3 Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
- Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
- Move the generator to a well-ventilated outdoor area.
- Remove the fuel cap.
- Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, avoiding spills. Do not fill above the fuel filter screen. The tank capacity is 25 liters.
- Securely replace the fuel cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4.4 Grounding the Generator
Proper grounding is essential to prevent electrical shock.
- Connect a heavy-gauge copper wire from the generator's grounding terminal to a suitable ground source, such as a ground rod driven into the earth.
- Consult local electrical codes for specific grounding requirements.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (if the engine is cold).
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts. Alternatively, use the electric start if equipped (press and hold the start button).
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before connecting electrical loads.
5.2 Connecting Electrical Loads
The Kompak K8000 provides 230V power through 1x 16A and 1x 32A sockets.
- Ensure the generator is running smoothly.
- Plug your electrical devices into the appropriate outlets.
- Do not overload the generator. The maximum power output is 7.0 kW.
- Monitor the digital display for voltage and frequency readings.
5.3 Stopping the Engine
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the engine to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable operation of your generator.
