2. Safety Information

  • Temperature Limits: This ducting is suitable for working temperatures between -22°F (-30°C) and 80°F (26.7°C). Do not use this product in applications where temperatures exceed 80°F (26.7°C), as this may lead to material degradation or failure.
  • Proper Installation: Ensure all connections are secure and sealed to prevent air leakage and maintain system efficiency.
  • Sharp Edges: Exercise caution when handling the ducting, especially when cutting, to avoid injury from sharp edges of the aluminum foil.
  • Ventilation: Always ensure adequate ventilation in the work area during installation.
  • Intended Use: Use this product only for its intended purpose as a flexible air ducting hose.

5. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps for proper installation:

  1. Prepare the Area: Ensure the installation area is clean and free of obstructions. Identify the connection points for your ventilation system.
  2. Measure and Cut (if necessary): Uncoil the ducting hose to its desired length. If a shorter length is required, use wire cutters or strong scissors to carefully cut the hose. Ensure a clean cut to facilitate connection.
  3. Attach to Connection Point: Slide one end of the ducting hose over the outlet or inlet of your ventilation system (e.g., dryer vent, HVAC unit, inline fan). Ensure the hose fits snugly.
  4. Secure with Clamp: Place one of the provided stainless steel screw clamps around the hose where it overlaps the connection point. Tighten the screw on the clamp using a screwdriver until the hose is firmly secured and there is no air leakage. Do not overtighten.
  5. Route the Ducting: Extend the hose to the second connection point, ensuring there are no sharp bends or kinks that could restrict airflow.
  6. Connect Second End: Attach the other end of the ducting hose to the second connection point and secure it with the remaining screw clamp, following step 4.
  7. Inspect Connections: Visually inspect both connections to ensure they are secure and airtight.

6. Operation

Once installed, the APACALI Flexible Ducting Hose operates passively as part of your ventilation system. Ensure that the system it is connected to operates within the specified temperature range of the ducting (-22°F to 80°F). Regular checks for airflow and system integrity are recommended.

7. Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the entire length of the ducting hose for any signs of wear, tears, punctures, or loose connections.
  • Cleaning: If used in applications where dust or debris may accumulate, gently clean the interior and exterior of the hose as needed. For dryer vents, lint removal is crucial to prevent fire hazards. Disconnect the hose from the dryer and vent outlet before cleaning.
  • Damage: If significant damage is found, replace the ducting hose immediately to maintain system efficiency and safety.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Reduced Airflow:
    • Check for kinks or sharp bends in the ducting.
    • Inspect for internal blockages (e.g., lint in dryer vents).
    • Ensure all connections are secure and airtight.
  • Air Leakage:
    • Tighten screw clamps at connection points.
    • Inspect the hose for tears or punctures. Repair small holes with appropriate ducting tape or replace the hose if damage is extensive.
  • Hose Degradation/Melting:
    • Verify that the operating temperature of your system does not exceed 80°F (26.7°C). If it does, this ducting is not suitable for your application and must be replaced with a higher-temperature rated product.
    • Ensure the hose is not in direct contact with excessively hot surfaces.
