Operating Instructions
1. Sharpening a Pencil
- Insert Pencil: Gently insert the pencil into the sharpening hole. The sharpener is designed for pencils with diameters between 6mm and 12mm, including No.2 pencils, colored pencils, and hard charcoal pencils. Note: Not recommended for very soft core pencils.
- Apply Light Pressure: Hold the pencil firmly and apply light downward pressure. The sharpener will automatically begin sharpening.
- Auto-Stop Feature: The sharpener will automatically stop when the pencil reaches a perfect point, preventing over-sharpening and saving pencil material.
- Remove Pencil: Once sharpening stops, remove the pencil.

- Locate the sharpness adjustment dial on the front of the sharpener.
- Rotate the dial to select your desired sharpness level.

Maintenance
1. Emptying Shavings Box
Regularly empty the shavings box to ensure optimal performance and prevent blockages.
- Unplug: Always unplug the sharpener from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Remove Top Lid: Gently lift the top lid of the sharpener to access the shavings box.
- Empty: Carefully empty the pencil shavings into a waste bin.
- Replace Lid: Securely replace the top lid until it clicks into place.
2. Cleaning the Blade
The helical blade is designed for durability (over 8000 sharpenings) and can be replaced if needed. Broken leads are automatically ejected, but occasional cleaning may be beneficial.
- With the top lid removed, you can gently brush away any accumulated graphite dust or small debris from the blade assembly using a soft brush (not provided).
- Do not use water or liquid cleaners on the blade or internal components.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sharpener does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue; adapter fault. | Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into both the sharpener and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet. |
| Pencil not sharpening or sharpening poorly. | Shavings box full; broken lead stuck; incorrect pencil size; worn blade. | Empty the shavings box. Insert a 2B pencil and press down with approximately 2KG pressure to eject jams. Ensure pencil is 6-12mm. Consider blade replacement if heavily used. |
| Sharpener stops unexpectedly. | Pencil is fully sharpened (auto-stop); internal jam. | This is normal if the pencil is sharp. If not, check for jams as described above. |
