Setup and Installation

Receiver Setup

  1. Unpack the Philips Plug-in Doorbell Receiver.
  2. Locate a standard grounded, three-prong electrical outlet within 150 feet of your desired push button location.
  3. Plug the receiver directly into the outlet. Ensure it is securely seated.

Push Button Installation

The push button comes with a pre-installed CR2032 battery and is pre-paired with the receiver for immediate use.

  1. Choose a suitable location for the push button, typically near your front door. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. You can mount the push button using either the included adhesive tape or screws.
    • Adhesive Tape: Peel the backing from the adhesive tape on the back of the push button and firmly press it onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds.
    • Screws: Use the provided screws to secure the push button to the surface. Pre-drill pilot holes if necessary.
  3. Test the doorbell by pressing the push button. The receiver should chime.

Operation

Melody Selection

The receiver offers 8 distinct melodies. To change the melody:

  1. Locate the "Melody" button on the side of the receiver (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Press the "Melody" button repeatedly to cycle through the available tunes. The receiver will play each melody as you select it.
  3. Stop pressing when you hear your desired melody. The selected melody will be saved.

Volume Adjustment

The receiver has 4 volume levels. To adjust the volume:

  1. Locate the "Volume" button on the side of the receiver (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Press the "Volume" button repeatedly to cycle through the volume levels (High, Medium, Low, Mute).
  3. Stop pressing when you reach your preferred volume level.

Pairing Additional Components

This doorbell system is expandable. You can pair up to four additional push buttons to one receiver, or pair one push button to up to four receivers. Additional components are sold separately.

To pair a new push button or receiver:

  1. Ensure the receiver is plugged in.
  2. Press and hold the "Pairing" button on the receiver (refer to Figure 3) for approximately 3 seconds until the receiver emits a short beep, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  3. Within 10 seconds, press the new push button you wish to pair. The receiver will chime to confirm successful pairing.
  4. If pairing multiple push buttons, repeat the process for each additional button.

Maintenance

Push Button Battery Replacement

The push button is powered by a CR2032 lithium-ion battery. When the push button stops working or its range decreases significantly, it may be time to replace the battery.

  1. Carefully open the push button casing. This may require a small screwdriver or prying tool.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery. Note the polarity (+/-).
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the push button casing securely.
  5. Test the push button to ensure it functions correctly with the receiver.

Note: Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

  • Low push button battery.
  • Relocate receiver or push button away from potential interference sources.
  • Ensure clear line of sight or minimal obstructions between units.
  • Replace the CR2032 battery.
Receiver volume is too low or too high.
  • Volume setting needs adjustment.
  • Press the "Volume" button on the receiver to cycle through volume levels.
