To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MaxLax EL Wire, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Storage: When not in use, store the EL wire in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the EL wire and battery pack with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the light dims or stops working to prevent corrosion in the battery compartment.
- Water Exposure: The EL wire is not water resistant. Avoid exposure to water or high humidity.
5. Troubleshooting
- Issue: Audible Noise from Inverter
- Solution: The upgraded battery pack is designed to minimize noise, but a slight hum may still be present, especially in quiet environments. This is normal for EL wire technology. For best visual effect, use in dark settings where the light is the primary focus.
- Issue: EL Wire Does Not Light Up
- Solution:
- Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the right polarity.
- Ensure the batteries are fresh and not depleted.
- Verify that the EL wire connector is securely plugged into the battery pack.
- Press the power button to cycle through the modes, ensuring it's not in the 'Off' position.
- Issue: Difficulty Shaping the Wire
- Solution: The EL wire is flexible and can be bent into shapes. However, to fix it into a specific, rigid shape, additional tools or fasteners (e.g., clips, adhesive, wire ties) may be required. The wire itself does not retain complex shapes without external support.
