5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install your YUEWO Pool Filter Pump.

1. Positioning the Pump: Place the filter pump on a stable, level surface near your above-ground pool. Ensure it is within reach of a grounded 110V power outlet and that the power cord is not stretched or obstructed.
2. Connecting the Hoses to the Pump:

   • Attach one end of a filter tube (hose) to the pump's inlet port and the other filter tube to the pump's outlet port.
   • Secure each hose connection to the pump using the provided fasteners (hose clamps) and screws. Tighten them firmly to prevent leaks.
3. Connecting the Hoses to the Pool:

   • Identify the inlet and outlet ports on your above-ground pool. Typically, the inlet is higher, and the outlet is lower.
   • Connect the hose from the pump's outlet to the pool's inlet port (where filtered water returns to the pool).
   • Connect the hose from the pump's inlet to the pool's outlet port (where water is drawn from the pool).
   • From inside the pool, insert the filter fittings (strainers) into the pool's inlet and outlet ports. These prevent large debris from entering the pump.
   • Secure all hose connections to the pool ports with the remaining fasteners (hose clamps) and screws.
4. Installing the Filter Element:
   • Unscrew the top cover of the filter pump.
   • Insert the filter element (cartridge) into the pump housing. Ensure it is seated correctly.
   • Replace the top cover and tighten it securely.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the pump is fully installed and all connections are secure, you can begin operation.

1. Priming the Pump (if necessary): Ensure the pump is below the water level of the pool to allow for gravity priming. If the pump is above the water level, you may need to manually fill the pump housing with water before starting to ensure proper water flow.
2. Starting the Pump: Plug the power cord into a grounded 110V US power outlet. The pump will begin to circulate and filter the pool water.
3. Filtration Process: The pump draws water from the pool, passes it through the filter cartridge to remove impurities (down to 10-15 microns), and then returns the clean water to the pool.

4. Run Time: The duration for which the pump should run depends on pool size and usage. For optimal water clarity, it is generally recommended to run the pump for several hours each day. This pump helps extend the time between full water changes from 7 days to approximately 30 days, depending on local environment and water quality.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your filter pump.

• Filter Cartridge Cleaning and Replacement:
  • The filter cartridge should be inspected and cleaned regularly, typically every few days, depending on pool usage and debris levels.
  • To clean, disconnect the pump from power, remove the top cover, take out the filter cartridge, and rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose.
  • Replace the filter cartridge when it becomes discolored or damaged, or if cleaning no longer restores adequate water flow. The filter is designed to be easily replaceable.
• Pump Housing Cleaning: Periodically clean the inside of the pump housing to remove any accumulated debris.
• Hose and Connection Inspection: Regularly check hoses and connections for leaks, cracks, or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately.
• Winterization: Before freezing temperatures, disconnect and drain the pump and hoses. Store them in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing water.
