- Preparation: Ensure the Bobcat machine is safely secured and the existing Bob-Tach levers are removed.
- Assemble Wedge Pivots: For each lever, insert the smaller compression spring (Part No. 6713040) onto the pin (Part No. 7277777).
- Attach Bob-Tach Wedge: Slide the Bob-Tach wedge (Part No. 6737191) onto the pin assembly.
- Install Lever Assembly: Insert the assembled pin and wedge into the lever (Left Hand Lever 6702903 or Right Hand Lever 6702904).
- Secure with Bolt: Use the appropriate bolt (Part No. 17C660 or 85D6) and washer (Part No. 619021) to secure the lever assembly to the Bob-Tach frame.
- Install Main Compression Spring: Place the larger compression spring (Part No. 6578253) over the pivot point.
- Final Fastening: Secure the remaining components using the socket head screws (Part No. 7255136) as indicated in the diagram.
- Test Operation: After installation, manually operate both levers to ensure smooth movement and proper engagement of the Bob-Tach wedges.
Note: Some users have reported that the springs can be stiff, requiring a spring compressor tool for easier installation. Ensure all bolts and screws are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
6. Operation
The Bob-Tach lever system allows for quick and secure attachment and detachment of various implements to your Bobcat Skid Steer Loader.
- Attaching Implements:
- Ensure the Bob-Tach levers are in the open (unlocked) position.
- Align the implement with the Bob-Tach frame.
- Slowly raise the loader arms to engage the top hooks of the implement.
- Tilt the Bob-Tach frame forward to allow the bottom of the implement to seat against the frame.
- Push the Bob-Tach levers down to engage the wedges into the implement's pockets, securing it in place.
- Visually confirm that both wedges are fully engaged before operating the machine.
- Detaching Implements:
- Park the machine on a level surface and lower the implement to the ground.
- Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.
- Pull the Bob-Tach levers up to disengage the wedges from the implement.
- Slowly back away from the implement.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your Bob-Tach lever kit will ensure its longevity and safe operation.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the levers, wedges, springs, and bolts for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace any worn or damaged components immediately.
- Lubrication: Apply a suitable grease to pivot points and moving parts to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
- Cleaning: Keep the Bob-Tach system free of dirt, debris, and mud, which can hinder proper engagement of implements.
- Fastener Check: Regularly check all bolts and screws for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary to prevent loosening during operation.
8. Troubleshooting
