2.2. Package Contents
- OTC UA22 22-Ton Under Axle Jack (Service Jack)
- 3/4 inch Saddle Attachment
- 1-15/16 inch Saddle Attachment
- 3-7/8 inch Saddle Attachment
3. Setup
3.1. Initial Assembly
- Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
- Attach the T-handle to the jack body. Ensure it is securely fastened according to the manufacturer's instructions (refer to any included diagrams or specific handle attachment mechanisms).
- Select the appropriate saddle attachment (3/4 in., 1-15/16 in., or 3-7/8 in.) based on the required lifting height and place it securely on the ram.
3.2. Air Supply Connection
- Connect a compressed air line to the air inlet fitting on the jack.
- Ensure the air supply pressure is regulated between 90-145 PSI. Exceeding this range can damage the jack.
- Check all connections for leaks before operation.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Positioning the Jack
- Ensure the vehicle is on a firm, level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
- Using the long T-handle, maneuver the jack under the vehicle to the designated lifting point. The 47-1/4 inch T-handle allows for positioning without crawling under the vehicle.
- Verify that the saddle is centered and securely positioned under the vehicle's lifting point.
4.2. Lifting a Vehicle
- With the air supply connected and regulated, activate the lifting mechanism. This is typically done by pulling the T-handle or engaging a lever on the handle.
- The air-assist feature will rapidly raise the ram. Continue lifting until the desired height is reached, ensuring the vehicle remains stable.
- Once the vehicle is lifted, immediately place appropriately rated jack stands under the vehicle's frame or designated support points.
- Slowly lower the jack until the vehicle rests securely on the jack stands.
4.3. Lowering a Vehicle
- Ensure the area around and under the vehicle is clear of personnel and obstructions.
- Slightly raise the vehicle with the jack to remove the load from the jack stands.
- Remove the jack stands.
- Slowly release the pressure to lower the jack. The self-retracting, spring return ram will facilitate a controlled descent.
- Once the vehicle is fully lowered, remove the jack.
5. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Before each use, inspect the jack for any signs of damage, wear, or leaks. Pay close attention to hydraulic hoses, fittings, and the ram.
- Cleaning: Keep the jack clean and free of dirt, grease, and debris. Wipe down the chrome-plated ram to prevent rust.
- Hydraulic Fluid: Check the hydraulic fluid level periodically. Refer to the manufacturer's specifications for the correct type of hydraulic fluid and filling procedures.
- Wiper Seals: The integrated wiper seals protect the hydraulic system from contaminants. Ensure they are intact and functioning correctly.
- Storage: Store the jack in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
