Setup
The Intex Zx300 requires self-assembly. Follow these steps for proper setup.
- Assemble the Cleaner Unit: Refer to the detailed diagrams in your printed manual for attaching any loose components to the main cleaner body. Ensure all brushes and wheels are securely in place.
- Connect Hose Sections: Connect the provided hose sections together to achieve the necessary length for your pool. The total hose length is 650 centimeters. Ensure connections are tight to prevent air leaks.
- Attach Hose to Cleaner: Securely attach one end of the assembled hose to the inlet port on the top of the cleaner unit.
- Connect to Pool Filtration System:
- Locate the suction inlet (skimmer or dedicated suction line) in your pool.
- Attach the other end of the hose to this suction inlet using the appropriate adapter. Ensure a secure, airtight connection.
- Make sure your pool pump is off before connecting the cleaner.
- Submerge the Cleaner: Carefully lower the cleaner into the pool, allowing it to fill with water and sink to the bottom. Ensure all air is purged from the hose by holding the hose end underwater before connecting it to the suction inlet.

Operating Instructions
Once the cleaner is properly set up and submerged, you can begin operation.
- Start the Pool Pump: Turn on your pool's filtration pump. The cleaner will begin to move automatically across the pool floor as water is drawn through it.
- Monitor Performance: Observe the cleaner's movement. It should move randomly across the pool bottom, covering all areas. If movement is sluggish or erratic, check for blockages or ensure your pump's flow rate is adequate (1600-3500 GPH).
- Cleaning Cycle: Allow the cleaner to operate for a sufficient period to clean the entire pool. The duration will depend on the size of your pool and the amount of debris.
- End Operation: When cleaning is complete, turn off your pool pump. Carefully remove the cleaner from the pool.
Important Note: The cleaner's efficiency is directly related to your pool pump's flow rate. Ensure it meets the specified requirements for optimal performance.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Intex Zx300 pool cleaner.
- Empty Debris Collection Bag: The cleaner has an internal debris collection compartment with a capacity of 1.8 liters. Regularly check and empty this compartment. A clogged filter will reduce the cleaner's movement and suction efficiency.
- Clean Brushes: Inspect the rotating brushes on the underside of the cleaner for tangled debris or wear. Clean them as needed to ensure they can effectively agitate and sweep the pool floor.
- Inspect Hoses: Check the hose sections for any cracks, kinks, or blockages. Replace damaged sections immediately.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, clean the cleaner thoroughly, allow it to dry completely, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
